Being a Lantern came with major responsibilities, ones that would crush a normal teenager. Good thing Jude Lucero was a self proclaimed badass normal teen. To her, she had the greatest power secured around her finger. Now it wasn't as cool as, say being a Kryptonian or Amazon warrior, but definitely gave her an ego boost. She spread love throughout the galaxy and was a crime fighting superstar!

Not everyone would agree. There was still so much for her to learn. In time she might become a crime fighting superstar but she had a long way to go.

"Pay attention," was said for the umpteenth time as Jude barely missed a group of micrometeoroids. Since the sun rose in the East that morning, the blonde had been accompanying a fellow Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris, in a flight to clear their heads — or more accurately, convince the sixteen year old she needed to be working with people her own age.

Jude saw no reason to switch up her routine. She was more than contant jumping between Hal and the woman beside her. They were good mentors ( most of the time ), the Justice League hero was one of the main reasons she even met Carol, who used to be a supervillain. That made for an awkward interaction, especially since the two were still in love.

If she did join a team it definitely wouldn't be with a bunch of sidekicks. No offense intended. She wanted to work with the big leagues, not a junior team. Of course nobody would let her join the JL when she was still just a kid with little experience — even though she's saved the galaxy twice, but who's counting.

"So these kids have Batman on board with their little team saving the world?" Jude asked.

Carol rolled her eyes while latching a hand onto the teen's arm to pull her away from the space dust she kept getting closer and closer too, never aware of her surroundings. "You're still a kid too, and yes he approved of this."

The girl hummed while nodding her head along, "that's surprising but not entirely. Still gonna go with no to the offer."

"Asking was only a common courtesy. You're going." The elder Star Sapphire put a hand up to stop Jude from complaining. "I know, I know. But you need to be around people your own age, make friends."

  "I have friends!"

"Oh yeah?" Carol raised a brow. "Name one."

"Robin, Kid Flash, and Arisia" Jude sneered up at her mentor with her nose wrinkling. Carol would have found the expression adorable if it wasn't directed at her. Instead she thought the blonde was being bratty.

Carol kept her expression neutral while shrugging, "then you should be looking forward to joining the Young Justice."

"They're not actually calling themselves that, are they?"
