Opening the door to the mansion, she found Malik seated by the stairs. "WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU? IT'S NEARLY FOUR IN THE FUCKING MORNING!" Malik shouted as she was shutting the door. In the years that they have been together, she has never seen him this upset. She turned to the right and headed to the kitchen, "Don't you dare turn your back on me when I'm talking to you." He followed behind. She went to the far left draw of the kitchen counter and opened it before retrieving the content inside the draw. He went to open his mouth but then the khaki envelope on her hand shut him up. It looked thick. It brought back the day she confronted him about his betrayal. His heart sank. She slid it across the counter and she motioned for him to pick it up. He looked at it with fear in his eyes. "Open it Malik!" she said loudly. Looking at her, he shook his head no. She nodded her head as if to say yes and came around the counter before picking up the offending envelope. She opened it and pulled out what was inside. Individually, she set each picture down. Each one was of her husband with a different woman. "Two hundred and one to be exact. That's how many women you have entertained but this is the best of them all," she said as she set the last picture down. He was too busy looking at the pictures before him that he failed to see the papers in her hands. "Divorce paper." She spoke in a business tone and his eyes shot up looking at her. Tears whaling in his eyes. She could not remember the last time she saw him cry but he only ever seen him twice. "I waited for you but it seems you are not interested in doing the work so I took it upon myself to do so. I do not want anything that you own. You can keep everything all I need is my freedom." She said and her words cut a little too deep because now tears were streaming down his face. She picked up the envelope once again and tilted the offending thing upside down only for a pen to come out of it. She handed him the pen and said, "sign."

"No!" He said as he stepped back. "No no no no no no no no no," he repeated. "I'm not giving up on us, on this! We have come so far for it to be the end. You can take everything but I'm not letting you go," he said crying. "You are my wife and nothing will change that." He said more to himself than anyone else.

"I have no doubt that you still love me, that you still have love for me but we are not one anymore. You broke that knot the moment you decided to share your body with someone else. We are all adult and I would hate for you to keep asking me where I'm going or where I'm coming from, so here." She extended her hand that was holding the pen and continued, "sign the papers and we'll both go our separate ways. You can freely sleep with any and as many women as you wish and I'll learn to date again and getting to know someone new."

"No!" He said. "I'll change, I won't sleep with anyone. I'll come home early and I'll earn your trust back."

"I think you are six months and two hundred and one women too late Malik. I have no desire on making this work. I have stopped caring when you walked in the house that we called home with a woman and laid her in our bed. I have given up. I have washed, soaped and dried my hands on this relationship. It's over between us." She spoke calmly this time, as if talking to a child.

"You don't mean that. I love you Zuri, I've always and will always love you. You are the love of my life and you love me too. I know you do. Please don't break us. I'm sorry for all I have done. Punch me, hell stab me or shoot me but please, don't leave me Zuri. My love." He's full on crying by now and it pained Zuri to see this man that to the world, is the toughest person someone would ever meet. He has his charms yeah but it is a well known fact that you do not want to go up against The Big Bad Malik. But here he was, pouring his heart out in front of her and she felt honored but there was nothing there. The pain she felt is one that she would share with a friend when they are going through a hard time but not the kind you would share with a lover. She wanted to hug him but she held herself back. If she was going to do this then she shouldn't do anything that would let off mixed signals.
