"I've set my eyes on you."

Soobin was spending his summer vacation in his grandparents' house . He used to come there every year that time. His only comfort place.

He was sitting in the beach there. The cool breeze touched his skin.
"Ice cream?"
Soobin turned around being startled. "Yeonjun hyung! You scared me!"
Yeonjun smiled, sat beside him and gave him the ice cream.
"How's your university going?" Yeonjun asked him.
"Pretty good. It's a lot of pressure though. How about you? How many kids are you teaching dance now?"
Yeonjun chuckled,"Kids? Most of them are grown people. Currently working in 3 batches, total 54 students."
"That's great!"

Silence passed between them.
Yeonjun nuzzled Soobin's cheeks, and asked,"What do you want me to treat you this time?"
"Bedtime," Soobin only thought, without mouthing it. It was hard for him to answer in this close situation.
"Anything you cook!" Soobin said excitedly.
Yeonjun closed their distance holding Soobin by his waist.
"Come to my house. I'll bake you a cake at night."

*****

Soobin was already in Yeonjun's house from afternoon. Yeonjun was taking preparations for baking a cake. Soobin was helping him.
"Don't! Soobin! You'll mess it up!" Yeonjun almost shouted and laughed at the same time. Soobin pouted.

The cake was tasty. A bit too sweet though.

"Umm, hyung?"
"Yes?"
"I've said grandpa that I'm staying this night with you. Sorry, I didn't take your permission."
Yeonjun was silent.
"Will you kick me out?"
"N-no! Why would I? You can stay overnight here."
"I wanted to cuddle."
"Same. You're so soft, Soobinie."

Soobin blushed a bit.

He was timid about his feelings toward Yeonjun. He couldn't speak out, as Yeonjun always pointed him out as a 'brother'. He was sick of it, but neither wanted to ruin their friendship as well.

Those intimate moments, were they only friendly? Do brothers behave like this? Whenever Soobin thought about their close moments, he couldn't think straight.

"I wanted to say you something."
Yeonjun said a little above minimum.
Soobin waited.
After a while when he heard nothing, asked,"What, hyung?"
"Nothing, leave it."

The next day Soobin went back to his grandparents' house. His granny asked him what was he going to wear for upcoming event.
"Event? What upcoming event?"
Granny looked at him in disbelief.
"Didn't you spend your night at Yeonjunie's place? He didn't tell you anything?"
Soobin was too confused. "No? Nothing about upcoming event?"
Granny sighed. "End of this week, Yeonjun is going to get married. With Yeji, that beautiful daughter of our neighbors."

Soobin's world was spinning in front of him. He wanted the soil to drag him down.
Why Yeonjun didn't say anything?

He spent that week in home, not going to beach, where he and Yeonjun spent most precious times together.

He didn't want to go to Yeonjun and Yeji's wedding, only because his grandparents drag him there.

Yeonjun and Yeji together looked great. Like a perfect couple. He clapped just like other people when Yeonjun and Yeji kissed each other. When his eyes meet Yeonjun's, he could see some unspoken emotions there.

He wanted to leave that place, just then Yeonjun approached him.
"Hey." Yeonjun spoke,"I didn't see you in beach. Where were you?"
"You care? You didn't even feel like telling me that you're getting married?" Soobin's eyes were watering.
"I wanted to." Yeongyu said slowly, "But I couldn't bring myself to say this, somehow. (Pause) W-wait, why are you crying?"
"Nothing", Soobin lied. "I can't think of you keeping some secrets from you. I'm...." He paused,"Happy for you both."
Yeonjun smiled, seeming a bit sad. "I'm glad. Forgive me, okay?"

Soobin left saying nothing. He left for Seoul the very next day.

Only if he knew, Yeonjun had made his bedsheets wet by his tears the day Soobin stayed with him. The marriage was slightly forceful, but Yeonjun agreed at last, knowing that his parents didn't want it. They wanted him to have a normal happy family. He loved Soobin so much, but he didn't think he could love him back too.

"I've set my eyes on you. And I'm looking forward to see you happy with someone too." That's the message Soobin got from Yeonjun while he was in bus. His tears were going backwards just as the wind.
