OC's Featured; Ruanshen and Sayømi

----

Ruanshen was lying on their back, looking up at the sky. While their lover, Sayømi, was playing its acoustic guitar, the breeze blew the flowers around. The moon shines brightly in the sky, casting an ethereal glow down on the two lovers, who would have thought that a cat-like alien, and a storm-dragon hybrid would fall in love with one another?. Silence was only being broken by the sound of breathing and the gentle strums of the guitar, otherwise all that could be heard was the sound of nature.

"Oh look, Sayømi, a shooting star; make a wish!" Ruanshen spoke softly into the night air, making Sayømi pause its playing.

"Ahh, I didn't have time to make a wish.." Sayømi admitted, as the shooting star left view.

"Then, there is something that you would have wished for?" Ruanshen turned their head, placing a hand onto one of Sayømi's, a subtle smile on their face.

"..Yes.." Sayømi sighed, sadness seeping into its tone.

"Then, what did you wish?" Ruanshen softly asked.

"I was wishing that we were two different people.." Sayømi whispered, as if speaking forbidden words, tears welling up in its eyes. "People who had wished not to say goodbye..."

----

The tears fell as reality settled upon the lovers, there was no guitar, no, there was bloodshed all around the area. A sword had been plunged in Ruanshen's stomach, their eyes lifeless as blood trickled from their mouth, silent tears staining their cheeks. Sayømi held Ruanshen's limp, lifeless body in its arms, laying down not to far from them, gaze drifting down to its own body, getting light-headed from losing blood at a rapid pace, having not being spared from the attack either.

"..I, wish I got to say 'I love you' one final time, Ruanshen.."

Sayømi mumbled, its vision going black around the edges,  eyes drooping before Sayømi lost consciousness, never destined to wake up again. The lovers had died by each others side, and they'd be remembered together.

----

After a week or so, the attack had stopped, the perpetrators fled the area, and people started looking in the forests for the pair. When the bodies had been found, people buried the two lovers at the spot they'd been found, after removing the sword and a few arrows from the bodies, tombstones being placed down with roses and spider lilies around the bottom of both the graves. A statue was made and placed behind the tombstones, so as to never forget what the two looked like, even if only the silhouette of the pair. Though, the people noticed that someone, or something, kept purposefully breaking the tombstones, and eventually the people of the village decided to forbid anyone from entering the forest, containing the burial site, at all. Which lead mother nature to take over the graves and statue, in a sense, reclaiming what was once hers.

(random image of a statue I found online, just for help visualizing? idk, I just wanted to include a photo of a statue tbh <3)
