Saturday came faster than I expected. My father did not say anything about the funeral since the other day but I dressed my siblings up in black regardless. I was not going to let him use us as an excuse to cancel the funeral. I always wondered how my mom fell in love with him because he clearly didn't care about her at all.

My siblings have not been talking much since I told them about what our father said and it was bothering me.

"Why have all of you been so quiet?" I couldn't help but ask.

"There's nothing to say" Josh was the only one who replied to me. Mike was sitting on the bed wearing his shoes and Lily was just sitting quietly on the chair in the room.

"Is it that you don't like this place or is this because of the funeral service we are going to?" I was pissed off. They were supposed to at least be talking. We were all grieving our mother here. Stella told me to let them bring up the issue themselves but I was fed up. I needed to talk to people so I won't keep crying most of the time.

"I don't like this place" They all said in unison like they had been expecting me to ask. I was thinking about how to go about it but I couldn't think of anything.

"I'd find something to do. Now, let's go downstairs for the funeral" As I said the last word, I felt a chill in my body. I still have not gotten over the fact that my mother was never coming back. As expected, everyone had forgotten about her death. The police did not arrest anyone instead they concluded it was suicide.

They did an investigation for weeks and all they could come up with was a suicide story. Even Dream who was not in our world knew she was murdered. I did not want to end up crying so I stopped thinking about it.

My father came out around the same time as us. "Let's go" He said, moving towards his car and we all followed him together with his wife who was walking slowly behind us making it so obvious she did not want to be there. However, I didn't have time to focus on her. All that was happening was becoming real to me. Till now, I secretly hoped my mom would come out of somewhere and tell me all this was just a joke and she just traveled.

After about an hour of driving, we reached the beach. "Why are we here?" My brother, Josh was the first to ask. My father didn't say anything. He just went to the booth of the car, picked a jar, and started walking towards the ocean.

"Follow him" My least favorite woman said while she sat in the car. Even though I really didn't see a reason why we were there, I followed.

We walked towards the ocean where my dad was already standing. "Say your goodbyes to your mom so we can throw her ashes into the ocean. Can't have the dead lurking around" Tears were rolling down from my eyes. My mom did not deserve this kind of funeral service. She deserved a party. She deserved a thank you speech from her loved ones. Apart from that, was it really allowed for people to throw people's ashes into the ocean?

"Don't tell me you want to throw her ashes in the ocean now" I finally found my voice. I was not going to let him disrespect her even though she was dead and never going to come back.

"Yes I want to because I don't need ashes in my house" I grabbed the jar from his hand. I was not ready to let my mom go yet until I have been able to find her killer when she will be able to sleep peacefully.

"Taking that jar means you are leaving my house with it of course" He said but I was sure he would have still kicked us out regardless.

"Give me two days" I said, taking my siblings towards the car. I was grateful he took us back home because I had no idea how to get back to his house.

Immediately we got home, I went out. I made my way to Stella's house. If anyone could help me with a house, it would be her mother, my mother's best friend.

I underestimated the get-together because a lot of people were there and I could swear it took almost an hour to even find Mrs Wesley, Stella's mother. I decided to go straight to her because I didn't see stella.

"Good afternoon, Cecilia. I had no idea you were coming" Stella's mom has always been nice to me and we became close over the years.

"I actually came to see you. I decided to come since I would soon be working at her company. But most importantly, I wanted to ask if you could add an accommodation with the job because I will nowhere to stay after two days" Stella was going to be upset because she hated it when I told others her secret and from the look on her mother's face, she obviously had no idea that Stella employed me.

" I thought she was not taking the company stuff seriously. Anyway, I'm guessing you'd be her secretary. She needs a friend, someone she can trust to work with. But why won't you have where to stay in two days?" I was glad Mrs Wesley was giving me an audience even though there were others trying to strike a conversation with her.

"My mom sold the house and my dad is kicking me out" I said the last part with a low tone. Truth was I could have avoided being kicked out but she didn't need to know that.

"That depends on if you'd be able to start work now" I happily agreed to start work immediately. There was no way in hell I was going to miss that opportunity.

"I'd tell Stella to take you to a house tomorrow" I was smiling sheepishly. Mrs Wesley left me to meet another person. I tried searching for Stella but did not find her anywhere so I went back home.

I told my siblings we were moving immediately I got home and started packing our bags while they helped me.

I got a notification on my phone and Lily ran to check it. I was not sure if I was still the owner of the phone anymore. To think she even had her tablet but she seemed to like my phone more.

"It's Stella, Cecilia" I left them to continue packing and went to check what Stella sent.

Stella: The house is close to the modeling agency she wants to give me. Why the hell did you tell her all that? You could have asked me directly, you know.

Me: I am so sorry. When I arrived, I did not see you anywhere

And with that, our conversation ended. I made a mental note to apologize to her properly when next I saw her.

We were finally done packing our things after over an hour. That was because we had two boys who still had problems folding clothes properly and I was not going to let anyone fold clothes anyhow under my watch.

We all went to sleep while I worried about how I was going to move all our things.
