𝐀 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 since Daphne had joined Kronos, and not much was different so far. Luke told her that they were waiting on a demigod of the Big Three to come to Camp Half-Blood. Until then, they just laid low and went about their normal routine.
One night at dinner, Daphne was eating at the Hephaestus table when she noticed something weird. Chiron and Mr D seemed more alert than usual, as if waiting for someone to show up.
As the campers were finishing up their meals, Chiron stood up and called for everyone's attention.
"Children, please listen," he announced, "Due to some issues going on at Olympus, Lord Apollo will be coming to Camp Half-Blood for a few days to investigate. In fact, he should be coming right now."
Daphne choked on the grape she was eating. Apollo, as in the god she had attacked. She cringed as she recalled what had happened.
Suddenly, the hot itchy feeling Daphne had felt that day came again, and she knew that Apollo was near. The snow on the trees and ground melted immediately and a bright light came from the woods. The campers swiftly averted their eyes.
When the warmth died down, Daphne looked back at the woods, to see the familiar good-looking man walking over. He had a smile on his face and an annoying strut to his walk.
"Chiron, Dionysus!" he said, "It's been a while."
Chiron smiled at him kindly and Mr D nodded carelessly at him, before resuming to yelling at a satyr to peel his grapes. Apollo made his way to the table and sat next to Chiron.
Daphne looked over at Luke subtly and they exchanged nervous glances. No doubt Apollo was here to investigate the missing bolt. Apollo and Chiron were in a deep conversation, both of them looking slightly concerned.
Daphne moved herself slightly, trying her hardest to listen into the conversation. The two of them were talking too quietly. She shifted onto the edge of the bench, and this time Apollo noticed. He looked over, tilting his head slightly. Daphne looked away immediately, but she managed to see Apollo's amused smirk of recognition before she turned.
"To welcome Apollo's arrival, let us all go to the campfire now and sing," Chiron said.
The campers all got up, chatting and laughing in excitement. It wasn't everyday you got to sing with the god of music.
As Daphne walked, she felt a figure right behind her. Knowing who it was, the girl tried to ignore him but Apollo moved forwards to walk right next to her.
"Remember me?" he said, his hands behind his back as he walked.
Play dumb. Daphne put on a fake smile and said, "No, Lord Apollo. I believe this is the first time we've met. It's nice to meet you."
Apollo smirked. As the god of truth, he knew Daphne was lying.
"You don't remember kicking me in the balls?"
Daphne gasped at his straightforwardness. She covered her shock quickly and shook her head.
"I think you have the wrong person."
Before Apollo could reply, Daphne quickly walked away to join her cabin mates at the campfire. She could feel Apollo's eyes burning her, and she looked down at her lap, as if interested by the fabric of her jeans.
