"And then he refused! He refused to give his mother money for just a few dresses!" Mrs. Benny cried, wiping imaginary tears with a tissue and threw it on the ground again.

This woman has wasted so so many tissues.

I sat there on the couch with a bored expression as she spoke and my mom continued comforting her.

"That is so entirely rude of him! How could he?" My mother said in a dramatic voice, making some exaggerating expressions as she did.

"And then my husband bought bananas for $20 and asked James for the money and he instead threw a tantrum like a child!"

Does she even know that she's embarrassing herself and her husband?
I guess it doesn't really count, because all of them are pitying her like the bananas were 20 million dollars.

Then she grabbed another tissue and began wiping imaginary tears once again. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I excused my self and went upstairs to my room, taking two steps at a time.

I answered the call, "Hello?"

A high pitched girly voice which gave me a headache spoke through the phone, "Hii Zeke, so I have a party this weekend-"

"No." I said in a stern voice. "I don't party. Especially the ones involving drinking and strippers."

"Awwww, whyyy? I miss you so much!"

"Why the hell would you miss me?" I said, a hint of annoyance slipping through my voice as I spoke and then hung up before she could reply.

I placed my phone on my nightstand and laid on my bed, exhausted and slowly closed my eyes before jumping back up to my feet when I heard my door open and then all of them started walking in my room.

Seriously bro?

I was about to walk out but my mom gave me a glare so I stood at the doorway while they talked, sitting on my bed and then at last Mrs. Benny constantly repeated for them to visit her at Saturday and that it would be a gathering and she'll be inviting the other ones too.

Saturday. Ruined.

"You can't be serious!" I repeated probably for the thousandth time, only to be ignored yet again.

"I can be serious, and I'm being serious." My Dad replied, buttoning his shirt and then went to the living room with me following behind.

"I want to be an author, don't do this! I don't want your business!" I retorted as I followed him, but he didn't spare a glance as he stepped out and slammed the door behind him.

I turned to mom with barely contained anger, and she just lifted the plate of pizza in her hands, "It's okay, sweetie."

"It's not okay." I replied, breathing heavily like a mad bull and turned to storm to my room.

"Wait don't go, we are leaving right now," She said, stopping me in my tracks and shoved the pizza in her mouth since I wasn't eating it and then started wearing her heels.

I walked over to the shoe shelf with my hands in my pockets and then put on a pair of sneakers.

-

I held back the urge to roll my eyes as Aunt Lucy pinched my cheeks and cooed me, "Oh my baby has grown so much! I remember changing your diapers and it feels like yesterday!"

She pinched my chin one last time before walking away, and I stared looking for my mom again, having to push through the crowd. Every room was occupied with people, and my eyes fell on a room's door that was closed.

I walked over to it and then knocked on it but didn't get a response. I knocked several times, this time louder and then just opened the door myself out of impatience to see an empty room with walls decorated with some cat pictures and sanrio character drawings.

I stepped in and closed the door behind me. I didn't like invading personal space nor do I when other people do mine but I had no choice but to stay here until I find my mom or the quantity of people lessen.

I sat on the very edge of the bed, almost to the point of slipping and landing on my ass, but almost.

I looked around for another moment, before going on my phone. I didn't have the wifi password, so I just went through my cat's pictures and videos, secretly baby talking him in my mind.

I sat there for probably like 20 minutes, until someone opened the door and a girl that looked like my age stepped in with elbow length wavy black hair and blue eyes.
