I turn and bolt, running down the street away from the arriving SHIELD Agents and Captain America. I hear an exclamation and boots following me, but I just keep running. I know I won't be able to outrun Captain America, but maybe an injured Captain America might be easier to lose. I round a corner and get a few feet before a blast slams into me, knocking me to the ground.
"Hands up, kid!" Says the muffled voice of Iron Man through his helmet. I get to my feet slowly and put my hands up. Within seconds, my hands are taken behind my back and cuffed by what I assume is a SHIELD Agent. They lead me to an all-black van and shove me into the back, even though I'm not fighting them. The doors close and moments later the van starts moving. I take a deep breath, sitting on the floor of the van and meditating. I try to find something, anything that could've reignited my powers, but I can't find anything, not even the source of my power, just that I used it.
How is this possible? I think. My powers were taken when I was banished. They've been gone for 500 years and all of the sudden I can kill two Hell Hounds with Shadow Vapor?! I haven't used Shadow Vapor since I could remember my name.

Eventually the van stops and the doors open. Two SHIELD Agents pull me out of the van and I realize I'm in some sort of garage. I'm lead to an elevator, which then takes us up to an interrogation room. They remove the cuffs from my wrists and instead cuff me to the table. Both SHIELD Agents leave me in the room and are replaced with Captain America and Thor.
"Why did you run?" Thor questions in his deep, thundering voice. I don't answer, instead just gesturing at Captain America with my chin. Thor looks at the Captain with one eyebrow raised.
"I asked her why she called the monster her friend before it dropped dead." The Captain explains, looking back to me. "I expect an answer still." I shrug.
"I felt it needed some comfort before death." I mutter, looking down at my hands cuffed to the table.
"Speaking of, how did you kill that beast?" Thor asks. I could answer truthfully, that I drowned it's mind in shadow vapor, but I have a feeling that might make them see me as more of a threat. So instead I answer with a half truth.
"I don't know..." how I summoned the shadow vapor to flood it's mind and end it's life. I say, finishing the sentence in my head. Technically, I'm not lying. They don't seem so convinced. The three of us remain sitting here, dead silent. Clearly the two Avengers are trying to intimidate me, but I refuse to let them see that it's working and continue to glare at them. Finally Captain America clicks his tongue and opens a file he had brought into the room with him, setting it in his lap so I can't see it.
"Since you refuse to answer any of the questions we need you to, I guess we'll just start with the basics. What's your name?" He asks. I nod to the file in his lap.
"That says Lisa McCallister. But you probably know that's a lie." I say with a shrug. "I'm guessing you have at least three contradicting profiles on me in that thing."
"Correct. Why would you lie about your name?" Captain America asks, leaning forward in his chair. I remain silent for a long few moments and he just maintains eye contact.
"I'm not gonna answer that, so you might as well move on." I inform him, trying to adjust in my chair, bringing one foot up to the chair so I can rest my chin on my knee. I look down at my shoe, studying it intensely to avoid eye contact.
"Fine. How have you seemingly not aged since 1922?" Captain America asks. I glance up at him and Thor, only to see the God of Thunder shifting to see the file in the Captain's lap, as if double checking. I could lie, I could fake ignorance, say it's just my grandmother or something, anything but the truth. But I have a feeling I'm not getting out of this situation so easily. I've officially fucked up my invisible life I'd been working so hard for. At least I'm in the hands of the Avengers, not SHIELD's rumored Locker or any of the many foes they face. I sigh.
"I have aged...it's just about as noticeable as Thor's aging though...And it's been much longer than just 1922. I'm about...1,076 or so." I say quietly. Captain America's eyes widen a little and Thor nods, leaning forward in his chair.
"Hm...are you a god? I am unfamiliar with any other gods that would be on Midgard at this time." I'm already shaking my head by the time Thor's finished speaking.
"I'd rather not explain what I am, just know that I am 'immortal' in the same sense of an Asgardian." I answer, my hands attempting to go fiddle with my shirt hem, but I am stopped by the cuffs on my wrists. Thor hums, acknowledging my answer.
"Would you be willing to explain how you killed the beasts?" Thor asks.
"Hell Hounds," I correct him. "I'm not really sure, I haven't been able to wield shadows for the last 500 years, but I was strangely able to today. I don't know how. Instincts took over and I used Shadow Vapor to infiltrate it's mind and flood it until it's heart stopped. It's quick and painless. And the whole 'my friend' thing," I look to Captain America, "that was also instincts. I was taught to say that so that any creature felt calm in it's last moments and it's spirit won't be restless."
Captain America nods, seemingly understanding my intentions. "And this 'Shadow Vapor', what's that?" He asks. I glance around the room, my eyes landing on an especially dark corner. I concentrate, and a thin strand of Shadow Vapor trails from the corner up to my hand, swirling around my fingers.
"This. I can use it as anything from a weapon to a party trick. Or I could 500 years ago...can again? I'm not really sure..." I answer. I really hope I get cooperation points from them for this.
"Get rid of it." Captain America says, as if it's an order. One flick. Just one flick and you can stab his nec- stop! I think, shaking off my hand a little to make the shadow disperse back into the corner it originated from. He nods, then glances at Thor. Thor nods in return and they both stand.
"We will return shortly, Lady...?" Thor says, asking my name. My heart stops a little at the realization that I'll have to tell them my name, something even I don't know. So instead I just shake my head a little and look at my cuffed wrists. The two of them leave me in the interrogation room and I remain sitting there silently.
