Yuri gasped for breath and suddenly sat up, finding herself in an
old-fashioned bed, similar to the one she had encountered in the hut. This
bed, however, was enormous and regal. She was alone in a room that
seemed to be a grand hall. Tears began to fall as she realized the reality of
her situation. She had hoped this journey to the past was a reward, a
chance to live peacefully with a family. Instead, it felt like another
punishment, a painful reminder of her past.
Yuri had hoped to escape her present sorrow, but now she found herself
confronted with figures from her past—her young father, his uncle, and an
unfamiliar new mother who was, in fact, her grandmother. The present
seemed a distant dream, and she wondered if her presence here would
halt or continue the present timeline. She felt guilt for leaving her father in
jail for five years and believed she needed to correct the past to change the
present. Determined, she resolved to return to her current time, no matter
the obstacles.
Just then, a nurse entered the room, looking as terrified and lonely as a
stray cat. The nurse shouted, “She is awake!” and quickly left. Moments
later, Kio entered the room, accompanied by a woman dressed in luxurious
attire. The woman, full of pride, contrasted sharply with Kio's anxious and
caring demeanor.
Yuri stammered, “What... who?”
Kio gently took her hand and said, “She is my aunt, and her name is…”
The woman interrupted, “I am Mrs. Henry. You can call me that.”
There was no warmth in her expression, only a hint of annoyance. Yuri
knew her name was Yami but was confused by Mrs. Henry’s youthfulness.Yuri attempted to be polite, “It is very nice to meet you, Mrs. Henry
Peransi.”
Mrs. Henry scoffed and walked out without a word. Despite Yuri's
politeness, she was bewildered by the situation. Kio reassured her, “My
aunt is just like that. Don’t worry.”
Yuri sighed and cried, “I want to go home!”
Kio tried to comfort her, “Are you already losing hope because of my aunt’s
behavior? Wait until you graduate, and then we’ll leave this house together,
okay?”
Yuri's thoughts were elsewhere. She didn't mean the home she came from
but rather the present she was missing. No one seemed to understand her
situation, so she nodded and remained silent, waiting for a chance to return
to her timeline.
Kio said, “Take some rest for now. I will be leaving.”
Yuri smiled and nodded. After Kio left, she explored the semi-hallroom,
amazed by its antique decor, which made the house resemble a museum.
As she wandered, she stumbled upon a dark, cluttered room. Inside, she
found a bed covered with a blanket and, upon uncovering it, a prince-like
boy emerged—Eden, though much younger than she remembered.
Yuri stood in shock as Eden, disheveled and dusty, awoke. Despite his
striking appearance, he was angry and pushed her away. Yuri, frightened,
pleaded, “Please don’t be angry, Eden. I’m confused, and I don’t
understand what’s happening.”
Eden, still fuming, ordered, “Get out!” His eyes were filled with fury, and he
didn’t help her up. Yuri fled the room, almost colliding with Kio, who had
rushed out in response to the commotion.
Kio asked, “Are you alright, sister?”Yuri, frightened, replied, “Didn’t you warn me about the haunted room?
Why didn’t you stop that ghost from harming me?”
Kio laughed, “He’s not a ghost! He’s alive.”
Yuri scoffed, “As if I didn’t know. Who is he, and why didn’t you tell me
about him?”
Kio’s laughter revealed his recent discovery of Yuri’s openness, though she
was candid because she knew he would be her father in the future.
Yuri asked, “Are you jealous of your rich cousin?”
Kio, with a thoughtful tone, replied, “No. Just wait and see. Tomorrow you’ll
start at the academy, so try to rest for now.” He patted her head.
Kio’s uncle was away on business, and Mrs. Henry was occupied with
official tasks at home. The elderly servant, who managed the household,
was always by the landlord’s side. Eden remained in his room, and Kio
retired for the night. Yuri pondered her situation until a young servant
named Bo came to show her to her room.
Yuri asked, “What should I call you?”
Bo replied, “Call me Bo.”
Yuri chuckled, “What kind of name is that?”
Bo’s expression hardened, though his appearance was impeccable—bright,
confident, and elegant. Yuri realized her comment had offended him.
Yuri said, “I didn’t mean it negatively.”
Bo, looking away, said, “I am only nervous for my master. I’m never polite
or loyal unless it’s for him.”
Yuri, puzzled, asked, “Am I not your master?”
Bo hastened away, “Go to sleep. Don’t get me in trouble.” His behavior
intrigued Yuri, who felt a strange connection to him. After Bo left, Yuri sighed and settled into bed, feeling the weight of her
mission. The next morning, she was awakened by Bo, who pulled open the
curtains.
Bo said, “I’m your caretaker now. I can do anything for your own good.”
Yuri, surprised, asked, “But you’re just a child.”
Bo replied, “Age doesn’t matter, only experience. Now get ready for
school.”
The clock read six o’clock—earlier than her usual wake-up time. Resigned
to her fate, Yuri got ready. Bo handed her a box of food and wished her a
safe trip.
Kio appeared, prepared for the day, and they headed to the car. Kio
beckoned the driver to open the door, and they set off for the educational
institution.
Yuri asked, “Don’t you think Bo is a bit unnatural?”
Kio responded, “What? I thought you’d comment on the driver.”
Yuri clarified, “I mean, a six-year-old acting as if he were my guardian.”
Kio laughed, “It’s the rules. Bo was found crying outside, and I took him in.
He’s my caretaker and does what he’s told.”
Yuri nodded, “That makes sense.”
Kio then asked, “Aren’t you excited for your first day of formal education?”
Yuri replied, “I’m struggling to keep up with everything.”
Kio advised, “Don’t overthink it. Just feel and follow your heart.”
The car suddenly stopped. Yuri, surprised, said, “The institution is so
close?”Kio encouraged her to get out, and they hurried into the building. Yuri was
overwhelmed by its grandeur, but she reminded herself of her role as class
president in her previous school.
Kio said, “I’m glad we’re not late.”
Yuri, confused, asked, “Late? I woke up at six. How could we be late?”
Kio reassured her, “Let’s go.”
As they walked through the hall, time seemed to slow for Yuri. She noticed
a stunning girl with a tan-oval face, red lips, and monolid eyes. Could this
be her mother? The moment passed, and Kio said, “That’s Amelia,
everyone’s crush.”
Yuri, excited and emotional, thought, “So, she has a bob-cut too.” Tears
welled up as she contemplated her mother’s presence.
Kio noticed her distraction and said, “What are you thinking? Let’s go.”
Yuri followed him into the classroom, where everyone stared at her. Kio
introduced her, “This is my sister, Yuri.”
Yuri, feeling self-conscious but determined, introduced herself confidently,
“Hello, everyone. My name is Yuri Peransi, and I’m a new student. I hope to
be friends and learn together.”
The class applauded, and Yuri returned to her seat. Kio thought, “I was
wrong about her.”
Yuri, noticing Amelia’s bob-cut, thought, “Meeting her was worth it. I’ll
complete my mission.”
