The night crept along silently, the moon inching behind the frosty glass in a still bedroom. Torius (Tori) laid alone in his large plush bed, debating whether or not he should ask Sager to come over. The palace was never quiet, always someone sneaking about, so why not add one more? Right? Besides, he still needed to talk to him about what had happened earlier that day.

He could still feel sagers tense body as he pulled him into an empty room off the side of the hallway. With how busy things have been recently, the preparations for his father's birthday, the summer starting to arrive and a holiday to plan, it was lucky that there was no one else in there. Once he barely got the door closed enough so no one would come in, sager tugged on Tori's hand again, to draw him closer. He could feel the shakiness, as his quiet words seeped into him. "I can hardly bear to see you so stressed, and I absolutely hate to add more to your list of worries, but there is something I need to speak to you about." There was hardly a breath to let me process that, when he followed it up with,"I've loved you for a long time now, and I want to stand by you forever more, if you'll have me."

Back in the dark bedroom, Tori felt his cheeks heat, for Sager had taken his silence as a no, not that he was simply lost for words, not that he didn't love him. In fact, he was taken aback, because he thought that sager wouldn't like or even love him like how he felt. He truly felt like that if he tried to share his feelings, that he would be rejected, and he was his best friend first, and Tori wouldn't be able to live with himself if he broke the relationship between him and his oldest friend by not letting things be how they are. But now, he laid in bed alone, his heart screaming at him to just go across the hall and wake him up if he needed to, just to tell him everything he wanted to say.

Torius threw off the covers with a start, slid out of bed, and threw on a thin white shirt. He approached the door, and stoped. Maybe he should go, it's very late now, he's surly asleep. Besides, what if he fell quiet again, what if he couldn't find the right words to tell him that he felt the same, that he'd always felt that way for him? His thoughts jumbled in his head, and he was about to turn around to try to go back to bed, when he heard quiet footsteps passed his door from the other side. While lost in his thoughts, sagers door on the other side of the hall had creaked open, and sager had came out to climb out the window to get to the roof. Tori cursed himself as he heard the window slide open, and felt the weight of sagers body leave to hall. He always goes to the roof to sort out his thoughts, I can't bother him now. He wouldn't come in when I'm pacing, so I should respect his time to think. Even as the thoughts settled to not bother him, his heart still thudded with all the unspoken words flitting about. Before his brain could stop him, he flung his door open.
