It had been days since then, and I was on a mission to find a certain person for an important reason.
As I stormed through the halls, I thought about how I was unable to remember anything further than a year ago without having to intensely think about it. It filled me with rage to think about the memories I had potentially lost.
"YOU!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME THIS TIME!?"
I stood there in place, unable to do anything but yell at the idiot with his weird looking ear. He had a dumb smile on his face that just made me even more mad to look at him.
"What ever could be the reason I'm being yelled at now?"
He was always infuriating to talk to.
"What have you done to my memories you oversized hearing aid!"
He looked at me with an offended expression before letting out a mouthful of laughter.
"Hearing aid!? That's a new one, but I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about. Not in this hallway at least."
He motioned his hand to a testing room, and I reluctantly entered it. As he fastened me in the chair, I noticed his expression changed from a teasing idiot, to a worried older brother. That's what I thought of it at least.
"I'm going to scan your brain. Don't move too much."
What!?
"Is this really necessary? It's just memory loss!"
I hate big machines, they're so loud and terrifying.
"Completely. Memory loss isn't a side effect that's supposed to happen. It's worrying considering your body isn't fully finished growing into your ability."
I've never seen him so serious about something before. It sent a chill down my spine.
"Okay... "
As he turned the machine on, I tried to stay as physically still as I could. It was loud and rotated around my head, it glowed a bright green light as it took in info about my brain. Disturbing. It took about ten minutes until it was officially done rotating around me. It was the longest ten minutes of my life.
"Oh no... This isn't good."
When I managed to lift my head up, I saw an even more worried look on his face. I watched as he took his phone out of his pocket and started aggressively talking to someone on the other line. I tried my best to listen but he kept his tone hushed and muffled.
"I don't care what you're doing! We have a serious issue going on with 23's brain control!"
brain control? What does that mean?
Once he was done, he gave me a fake smile and said to close my eyes for a while.
"Everything's gonna be fine, we're gonna fix you right up!"
His fake cheerfulness is disturbing
I opened my eyes to find I had fallen asleep. I looked up from the chair to find the imbecile talking to a taller, weirder looking guy. I was only able to see the back of him though my blurry vision, but he looked strong. His tanner skin stood out against his blonde hair that faded into a grayish green, and his head contained mushrooms of various types blooming out of it...
Wait.
As soon as I realized, I felt a piercing pain run through my stomach like I had just been stabbed. The pain was so sudden I couldn't even get a scream out, instead I felt my body jerk upwards in the chair in an attempt to flee the pain. I slowly lowered my head to see what looked like a knife sticking through me.
No. That wasn't it.
Not believing myself, I looked at the object closer to figure out that it was a mutated mushroom that had pierced me. That only confirmed my suspicions. Suddenly I heard the imbecile start shouting.
"Are you crazy!? You can't stab a critically unstable person like that!"
With that said, the man made an annoyed gesture before quickly removing the painful plant. Causing me to start bleeding out at a concerning speed.
"So it bleeds blue. Interesting."
As my vision blurred and faded from the pain, I stared at the man with pure hatred to the point I swear he could feel it from the way he was fighting the urge to turn around.
"Coward.."
Guessing from his rage, I'm not getting those memories back any time soon.
