Joy
"We've got to get back to headquarters and stop Resentment," I said urgently to Infinite as we traversed Imagination Land.
"Where exactly is this train you mentioned?" Infinite asked, sounding as exhausted as I felt after all the walking.
"It's just over..." My voice trailed off as a shout from behind interrupted our conversation.
"Hey, you two! Stop right there!" We both spun around to see two Mind Cops running toward us.
"Not again," Infinite muttered, his wide eyes reflecting my own growing concern.
"Let's Go!" I urged, breaking into a sprint with Infinite close behind me.
"Get back here!" the Mind Cops yelled, their footsteps echoing as they pursued us.
Infinite quickened his pace until he was running alongside me.
Suddenly, one of the Mind Cops launched his handcuffs in our direction.
The cuff latched onto Infinite's foot, causing him to trip and fall hard on his stomach with a loud groan.
I froze, then swiftly turned around at the sound of his distress. "Infinite!" I called out, rushing back to his side.
"Joy, you need to get out of here before they catch you," Infinite pleaded as I struggled to release him from the handcuffs.
"No, I'm not leaving you," I insisted. "We don't know where they might take you."
"Stay right where you are!" the Mind Cops commanded, their voices unwavering.
Infinite glanced back at the approaching cops before looking at me once more. "You don't have to do this," he whispered.
Our eyes locked, and I saw the fear and concern in his gaze.
"Yes, I do," I said with steely determination. With a final tug, the handcuff released his foot, setting him free.
"We should get going," Infinite urged. But just as we were about to make our escape, the Mind Cops intercepted us and ordered us to stay put.
"You two are coming with us," one of the cops commanded.
The larger Mind Cop approached me, handcuffs in hand.
"You're coming with us," he declared, his intentions clear.
Infinite quickly stepped in front of me, acting as a shield.
"You won't be handcuffing anyone," he stated firmly, his gaze locked on the cop's.
"And who's going to stop me?" the cop retorted, his anger rising.
"I am," Infinite responded protectively.
"Well, I'm sorry you feel that way," the cop said as he pulled out a taser gun, aiming it at Infinite.
"Step away from her. He ordered.
Infinite stood his ground. "Or what?"
"Or I'll tase you," the cop threatened, pressing the taser harder against Infinite's forehead.
"No!" I cried out, fear for Infinite's safety gripping me.
I tried to step in front of him, but he pushed me back, signaling me to stay behind him.
"Go ahead, try it," Infinite challenged.
The cop, visibly frustrated, pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. He tried again, but to no avail.
"How are you not getting tased?!" he shouted, disbelief clear in his voice.
"Why?" Infinite questioned before gripping the cop's wrist tightly, causing him to drop the taser.
