Akira woke up to an empty space beside her, Koga's absence immediately noticeable. She sighed, her gaze falling on her three wolves, who sat attentively beside her.
Their eyes locked onto hers, and she smiled softly, petting them reassuringly.Stretching her lithe frame, Akira stood up, her movements fluid."Where's Koga?" she asked one of the other wolf demons.
The demon's eyes met hers. "He stepped outside for some air. Said he couldn't go far. He's only been gone for five minutes."Akira nodded, her expression thoughtful."Thank you," she said, her voice gentle.
With a quiet determination, she walked out of the cave, the wolves flanking her.The crisp morning air enveloped her as she scanned the surrounding landscape, searching for Koga.
Koga stood outside, gazing up at the sky, as Akira approached him."What brings you out here?" she asked, her voice gentle, accompanied by a soft smile.
Koga turned to her, his eyes mirroring her warmth. "Just wanted some sunshine."Akira's smile deepened. "That adds up. How's your arm?"
Koga's expression turned reassuring. "It's healed, I'm fine."He kissed her head, and Akira's eyes sparkled with delight."Good, we don't need you on your ass," she teased.Koga chuckled, his eyes crinkling."Yeah, it's a good and bad thing being needed, huh?"Akira's smile softened. "It has its benefits."Their lips met in a tender kiss.
"You sleep well?" Koga asked, his voice low and gentle. Akira nodded. "I always do when you're there."She kissed his cheek, and Koga's smile faltered for a moment before returning. "Glad to be of service, then."Their love shone in the quiet moment, surrounded by nature's serenity.
The Northern wolf leader addressed Koga, who sat calmly beside Akira.
"We've located a lord possessing a sacred jewel shard. He rules a castle. I know it sounds far-fetched, but we're not joking. Join forces with us, and together we'll defeat the Northern and Eastern tribes. Then, we'll storm the castle."Koga's expression remained unreadable.
The Northern wolf pressed on. "We'll split the jewel shard equally. So, Koga, will you join us?"Koga's response was succinct. "Not interested."
The Eastern wolf's tone turned incredulous. "What? Why the hell not?" Koga's explanation was simple. "I have personal matters to attend to first."
The Eastern wolf nodded thoughtfully. "I see. No need to force the issue." A Northern wolf intervened, "He's injured. Look."
The group's gaze fell upon Koga's arm, and their expressions softened. With a nod, they departed, leaving Koga and Akira alone as she leaned into him.
One of the wolf demons approached Koga, concern etched on his face. "You sure you want to turn them down, Koga?" Another wolf demon added, "If we don't join them, the Northern Tribe will claim the entire sacred jewel shard."
