Nathan Pendragon was lost, both physically and mentally. He had learned where he was, the large town of Edmund which lay South-East of Woodrow, but that was all. But he had no idea what to do or where to go. He had been rudely awoken from his sleep by a group of police officers just after a couple hours. They tried to arrest him for attempted murder, but he just used Blackout to knock them all unconscious. He had then hid in an alleyway for another, much longer sleep. And here he was, sitting on a blanket he had created. He was experimenting with his powers. Currently his biggest problem was imminent death due to magical strain. Using Magicae Powers greatly weakened the human body. If used too frequently or for too long, there will be negative consequences. The most obvious sign was the hair suddenly losing pigmentation. Other symptoms were shakiness, insomnia, weight loss, drastically weakened immune system, loss of feeling in related parts of the body and eventually death. Due to Nathan's high variety of powers and habit of activating multiple of them at the same time, he was already far along in the progression. If he used Escalate or Devmode even once, he would probably drop dead. He had tried over a dozen different combinations centred around Regen, but nothing had worked. He was only weakening himself more and more. Even Enhance didn't fix things. Suddenly, a loud voice rang through the air.
'Nathey Wathey, where are you? C'mere Pendragon-dragon-dragon!'
That voice belonged to Tenson Graevel. Oh no, he was here! Two people walked in front of the alley in which Nathan was hiding.
'Oy, you, old man!'
Nathan looked at the two new arrivals. A tall man wearing entirely black leather clothing and a gangly, pointed man wearing metal-plated clothing. Aiden Winterway and Dean Endofor. It was Aiden who had called out to Nathan.
'Have you seen some creepy kid around here. Nathan Pendragon, y'know, he was on the news recently. Well, I suppose an old homeless guy like you probably doesn't watch the news!'
'Ha! Nice burn Ice Lord!'
Nathan was sitting in shadow. It seemed they had seen his white hair and dirty clothing and just assumed he was an elderly homeless person. What idiots. Oh well. He had enough power to deal with them. He stood up.
'That was awfully rude of you two. Do you need to be taught a lesson?'
'Oh, you wanna go, old man? Well then, get him Rifleman!'
Dean held out his right hand. The barrel of an indistinct gun poked from his palm.
Bang!
Reject
the bullet shot towards Nathan, slowed rapidly as it approached, and then flew in the opposite direction. It barely missed Dean. Aiden attacked this time.
'So you're a Magicae like us huh? Well then, I don't have to hold back then!'
He placed his hand against the alley wall. Ice spread across it, producing massive spikes.
Fabriform
Nathan shot forward as a strip of cloth. Two ribbons whipped around his opponent's necks and dragged them backwards as Nathan flew past. They both fell over and landed at the reformed Nathan's feet. They looked up and realised.
'Oh crap,' Dean exclaimed.
'We just picked on Pendragon!' Aiden cried.
'Found you!'
