Coach Kim approached Min-Soo, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. "Join our school basketball team, Min-Soo. Your skills would be a valuable asset."
Min-Soo declined graciously, but Tae-Oh intervened, his persuasive tone unwavering. "Come on, it'll be an incredible experience!
Team Captain Ji-Hoo stepped forward, his expression unyielding. "Sorry, our team's full. We've been together for 3.5 years; we're a cohesive unit."
Min-Soo's countenance transformed, his voice laced with subtle entitlement. "I'll join the team, Coach.
Tae-Oh beamed with excitement, while Ji-Hoo's discontent was palpable.
Coach Kim gathered the team, formally introducing Min-Soo. The team welcomed him warmly, desperate for a winning streak.
Meanwhile, Ji-Hyun immersed herself in note-taking, Soo-Young bursting with excitement beside her.
"Hyun-ah, you won't believe Min-Soo's incredible shot! He threw the ball from the entrance and scored!"
Ji-Hyun rolled her eyes, her tone measured. "Soo-Young, focus on your studies."
Soo-Young teased, "You're jealous because Min-Soo excels in every aspect."
Ji-Hyun playfully hit Soo-Young with her book. "Whose side are you on?"
The bell signaled the end of break.
Min-Soo returned to his seat, holding a sandwich. As he took a bite, Ji-Hyun's stomach growled audibly.
Min-Soo's lips curled into a smile. "Did you skip lunch?"
Ji-Hyun's response was icy. "None of your concern."
Min-Soo whispered, his voice low and smooth, "Of course it's my business, Ji-Hyun. You're destined to be my fiancée."
Ji-Hyun's hand clamped over his mouth, her eyes flashing. "Shut up... Don't ever utter those words in class."
Min-Soo removed her hand, his gaze locked onto hers. "Sorry."
During self-study, Min-Soo requested, "Share your notes for all subjects."
Ji-Hyun shivered at his proximity. "I'll give you the notes, but maintain a 20-meter distance."
Min-Soo chuckled. "Then I should stand on stilts?"
Ji-Hyun glared. "Whatever you do, just leave me alone."
Min-Soo took the notes, studying them intently. "Impressive... I'm genuinely impressed."
Ji-Hyun's curt response, "Shut up."
The bell signaled the end of the school day.
Min-Soo packed his bag, turned, and whispered, "Goodbye, my future fiancée."
Ji-Hyun's heart raced as she watched him exit.
Soo-Young approached, laughing. "Girl, he's gone... Who?"
Ji-Hyun grumbled, "Min-Soo, who else?"
As they departed school, Ji-Hyun's driver waited, ready to transport the neighbors home.
Min-Soo rode his bike, a satisfied smile etched on his face.
I hope you like this chapter.
