Jun's cheeks still burned from the encounter with Sophia. He turned to Yashi, trying to process the sudden rescue.
"Thanks, really," Jun said, fumbling with his backpack straps.
Yashi chuckled. "No problem. I couldn't just stand there."
They walked side by side, heading toward the school entrance.
"By the way, I'm Yashi," he said, extending his hand.
"Jun," he replied, shaking it.
Yashi's handshake was firm, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"So, Jun, what's your story with Sophia?" Yashi asked, curiosity sparking in his voice.
Jun shrugged. "Just a persistent classmate."
Yashi raised an eyebrow. "Persistent?"
Jun's face warmed. "She won't take no for an answer."
Yashi's expression softened. "You okay?"
Jun nodded, feeling a strange sense of comfort around Yashi.
As they stepped outside, Yashi hesitated.
"Hey, Jun? Want to grab a coffee with me?" Yashi asked, his tone casual.
Jun's heart skipped a beat.
