L/N F/N was the definition of shy, timid, and soft. She had always been the quiet type, blending into the background with ease. But despite her reserved nature, everyone around her couldn't help but be captivated by her cuteness. Her petite height only made her look more adorable, like a small doll that everyone wanted to protect. And that softness? It only added an extra layer of charm.
The reason for her enrollment at Fukurodani Academy was simple—both her parents were alumni. Plus, her best friend from middle school, Yuki, was also attending. Yuki's house was nearby, so it worked out perfectly.
On the first day of school, the two girls made their way to the entrance ceremony together, both looking around with wide eyes as they took in the bustling atmosphere. The gym was packed with first years, and the air buzzed with nervous energy. Y/N clutched her bag tightly, feeling a familiar wave of anxiety wash over her.
"I can't believe we're finally here," Yuki whispered, nudging Y/N with her elbow. "It feels surreal, right?"
Y/N nodded, biting her lip. "Yeah... surreal." More like nerve-wracking.
The principal soon started his speech, welcoming the new students with what was clearly meant to be inspiring words. Unfortunately, his tone was monotone, and the speech dragged on...and on...and on. Y/N's eyelids felt heavier with each passing minute. She wasn't the only one. A glance around showed several other students nodding off, heads bobbing as they fought to stay awake.
Yuki, sitting in front of her, was doing her best not to doze off, her posture stiff as if sheer determination alone would keep her alert. Y/N stifled a yawn, her hand coming up to cover her mouth.
Why is this speech so long? she thought, feeling her eyes start to drift again. Her gaze wandered toward the door, hoping for some sort of distraction, and that's when she saw him.
A boy with jet-black hair, sharp features, and eyes that somehow looked both calm and intense at the same time walked by the open door. His face was so... pretty. Y/N blinked, her heart skipping a beat as she found herself staring at him. There was something about his expression that made him look like he had his life completely figured out.
And he wasn't alone. Walking beside him was another boy—this one more energetic-looking, with spiky hair and a loud, confident grin plastered across his face. The contrast between the two was almost comical, but Y/N's eyes were glued to the pretty boy.
Wow... who is that? Her face grew warm as she realized she had been staring for too long. A sudden wave of embarrassment hit her, and she quickly looked away, her cheeks flushed pink. Great. I probably look like an idiot.
Yuki, oblivious to the entire exchange, continued to fight off sleep, muttering under her breath, "I'm going to fall asleep if this keeps going. I swear, I'm—" Her voice trailed off as her head dipped forward for a second, only to snap back up as she jolted awake. "Gah!"
Y/N barely noticed her friend's struggle. Her thoughts were too preoccupied. Who was that? He was so pretty... and calm... and— She shook her head, trying to focus on anything but her random infatuation with a boy she hadn't even met. Okay, focus. You're here to study, not to ogle at boys. Especially pretty boys. Especially boys you don't even know!
The ceremony finally ended, and Yuki turned to face Y/N, stretching her arms with a dramatic sigh. "Well, that was brutal. I almost fell asleep ten times."
Y/N laughed nervously, still flustered from earlier. "Y-Yeah, same." She cast another glance toward the door, but the boy was long gone.
As they walked to their classroom, Class 1-7, Yuki chatted excitedly about how relieved she was that they were in the same class, but Y/N's thoughts were somewhere else. I wonder who he was... Does he go here? What am I thinking? Of course, he goes here! He was in uniform!
Yuki nudged her, pulling her out of her thoughts. "You okay? You've been quiet... well, quieter than usual."
"Uh, yeah! I'm fine! Totally fine!" Y/N squeaked, her face heating up again. "Just... y'know... nervous about school!"
Yuki raised an eyebrow. "Right..." She clearly didn't believe her but decided to let it go. "Well, don't worry. We'll survive. Just don't fall asleep in class like you almost did at the ceremony."
Y/N smiled sheepishly. Maybe surviving Fukurodani won't be as boring as I thought...
Little did she know, her quiet first year was about to get a whole lot more interesting, especially if she kept running into that pretty boy.
Not that I want to run into him... or do I?
