Throughout the lecture, Killian's piercing gaze never wavered. His intensity made my skin crawl, yet stirred an unfamiliar emotion within me.

I felt exposed, vulnerable.

As the lecture concluded, I escaped to the university canteen, seeking refuge with Sam.

But as I waited for Sam to return with lunch, my anxiety grew.

Where was he?

Finally, Sam appeared, trembling.

And he wasn't alone.

Killian loomed behind him, his eyes locked onto mine.

Sam hastily whispered an apology before beating a retreat, leaving me alone with Killian.

My unease turned to dread.

Killian slid into the seat across from me, his movements fluid and predatory.

"Hey, babe," he drawled, his voice low and husky.

I flinched, my heart racing.

"Wh-why are you calling me that?" I stuttered.

Killian's smile was a slow, sensual curve.

"I meant exactly what you heard, babe."

My face burned with embarrassment.

"Why are you calling me babe? I don't even know you!"

Killian chuckled.

"We met this morning. How could you forget so easily, babe? It hurts my feelings."

My anger flared.

"Why are you spouting nonsense? And don't call me 'babe'!"

Killian leaned in, his breath whispering against my ear.

"Maybe 'baby' is better?"

My skin crawled.

"Literally, fuck you. You're pissing me off."

Killian's eyes gleamed with amusement.

"I got a boner because you keep talking dirty."

His voice dropped to a whisper.

"Let me make one thing clear: I'll be the one fucking you, babe."

I bolted from my seat.

"Fuck off, Killian!"

As I rushed away, Killian's parting shot echoed through the canteen.

"So, you do know my name, babe."

Sam's worried expression awaited me outside.

"Hey, Ash, I'm sorry about what happened. Killian's...intimidating. Everyone's scared of him."

My unease deepened.

"That's why you left me alone?"

Sam nodded.

"Killian told me you...belong to him."

A chill ran down my spine.

Killian was a psycho.

I needed distance.

The day finally ended, and I sought solace in my new room.

But as I opened the door, my heart sank.

Killian stood before me, his eyes burning with intensity.

"You...what are you doing here? How did you find my address?"

Killian's smile was a slow reveal.

"Babe, you're finally here. I've been waiting."

My fear spiked.

"Just answer the damn question!"

Killian chuckled.

"Looking for your address was nothing, babe."

My temper flared.

"You're a freaking crazy ass!"

Killian's eyes glinted with amusement.

"Damn, babe, this temper of yours...and you curse a lot."

A shiver ran down my spine.

His words carried a warning.

"Please go away."

My voice trembled.

But Killian's smile softened.

"Babe, don't worry. Don't be scared. We'll take things slow. Let's get to know each other."

For an instant, his smile melted my fear.

Maybe he wasn't a monster.

Maybe.

I stepped aside, allowing him entry.

As he began cleaning, I watched, torn between wariness and curiosity.

Who was Killian, really?
