Days passed, a week I think. And the atmosphere didn't change around the castle of the Academy. In these days that passed I realized two things:
The first is that who you are doesn't really matter here. What matters is you and your abilities, everybody here is watching every move of mine and the people's without powers. They call us "The unworthy ones" because we are unworthy of being here with them. They say that we are only a waste of space. Well the second is where the true fun begins. Once you come in here you are free of protocols, rules, everything. The only thing you have to do is attend the classes you chose on your own.

While the time passed Mavise and I seemed to get along very well. But the other girl in our room, Zaira, is in her own world surrounded with books. Alyssa is closed up in her room all day long and wont let us get in, if she wants to be left alone, let her be.

I looked at Bryce who was now holding a wooden bow with an arrow steady on her fingers, ready to fly through the morning wind. I took a step closer to her and stood close to her.

Her hands are not steady enough even if her eyes are pointed at the target her hand will slip just enough for the arrow to go a little to the left or the right, depending on the wind too.

"Take a breath and don't shoot until your hand is ready." My voice cut through the silence, she didn't even take her eyes from the target to look at me, good.

"You know I'm not the patient kind." She shot her arrow, the string's sound followed immediately and a second later, the arrow met the target. But it wasn't the exact target she missed for 5 meters. I tickled my tongue and turned my head to face her.

   "I told you."

"And I told you I hate fucking Archery it's the most boring thing in the world. Put me in the ring and I will make a whole performance full of art." She wasn't lying if I can consider myself talented in swordplay, Bryce is a freaking artist when it comes to martial arts.

"Bryce, we need to get over with the boring stuff first to keep the best for last. It's just for some days."

"Your period lasts only for some days too but you don't seem excited when you have to endure it." I just looked at her with a pale expression. What? Just what? Who says something like that? Where did it come from?

"You seriously just mentioned my circle to prove your point about Archery?" Bryce only looked at me with a bored expression before I told her to continue with her practice. That girl will be the end of me.

Bryce was next to a boy who was too short for his age and too dull. Just by looking at him I'm getting more and more bored. Next to him there was Alarick's puppy, Owen was his name. The only information I have about him is that he is from Zion and that he follows Alarick everywhere not because he needs him but because he likes to annoy him and see his reaction, the only thing we have in common. Owen was skilled at... well pretty much everything, which made Bryce's blood boil. Owen took a step back and once his right foot touched the ground he shot his arrow. It hit exactly at the target. He turned his head to glance at Bryce's target and once he noticed her missed shots he chuckled to himself and pulled another arrow from the quiver on his back.

I was at history class when my eyes felt so heavy for me to close them and open them again on repeat for an hour that felt like an eternity. I couldn't hear what the professor was saying, Killian I think was his name. He was blabbering about the story of the four spirits. It's more religious than historical but it is also where everything began.

When the earth was covered with plants and only animals were alive. A spirit was made. They called her the daughter of the sun, Vesta. She had the form of a woman, she wasn't born and didn't age.

She was just made in the form of a tall woman with long red hair and her eyes had the color of gold. The story says that she didn't know what her purpose on earth was or why she was even made.

In the beginning she wasn't even aware of her abilities as a spirit. Spirits are some kind of gods who have abilities that control the elements of nature. The historians called her the daughter of the sun because of her abilities. She could control the lighting of the sky, the light of the sun and force powerful flames to appear.

Then Keith followed. He had the form of a tall man and his hair had the color of the soil of the earth. His eyes, green like the leaves of the trees. The people called him the son of earth, he could manipulate every tree and plant, he could take the form of every animal he wanted and he had healing abilities.

The third one was Zion, son of the wind. His skin was coffee brown and on his back there was a pair of two huge black wings that could carry him to every place he pleased.

Lastly Cordelia, the daughter of the ocean. She could manipulate every drop of water from the plants and the earth, the oceans, the rivers, every drop of water was at her will. She was also a very skilled healer, even better then Keith. Even though they appeared separately on earth with different abilities they didn't know their purpose on earth. But as the time passed the animals ... and so did humans.

In the beginning the humans were... hopeless. They were scared of the wild animals and didn't know the secrets of the forest to help them with its healing gifts.

The first spirit to feel sorry for them was Vesta. She approached them and gifted them with an eternal flame. She taught them how to hunt and use the fire to heat their food. She taught them how to defend themselves from the animals. The humans saw her as a goddess, their savior. The other spirits wanted to be useful too. So each one of them started teaching the humans how to survive with multiple ways and when they realized how much the humans needed them they made an oath, to be united as brothers and sisters but also be the protectors of the humans.

Everything would be perfect if they had stayed on earth forever but after hundreds of years Vesta left the earth and the other spirits followed her. Before they left they trusted four humans to protect earth on their place, to achieve that they gifted them with their abilities. With time these humans took the titles of kings and queens. The kings and queens of this time are the descendants of these four humans.

"Alarick!" The professor's voice was too loud for me to snap out from my thoughts and look at him. He was 2 feet before me but his eyes were looking behind me on the left where Alarick was sitting. I didn't need to look behind me to know that Alarick was sleeping again during class.

"I assume you already know what I've been saying this whole time for you to not listen." Alarick didn't answer immediately, he must have taken a second to consecrate and find the right words to say.

"Of course." Killian's eyes didn't leave Alarick, not even for a single second. He took a step back and asked Alarick to tell him the correct order of how the spirits disappeared from earth. It's a very easy question, it's the same order that they appeared. Even Alarick can answer that.

"Zion, Cordelia, Vesta and Keith." Alarick quickly gave his answer not entirely sure if he was right but he didn't seem to care. Some kids behind him chuckled, some kept their surprise silent. Professor Killian simply shook his head slowly in disappointment.

"Anyone who would like to give Alarick the correct answer?" No one answered. Everybody was looking around the room waiting for someone to say the order and be done with it. Killian took another step forward and was right next to my desk. He lowered his eyes and met mine. You have so many people in front of you...

"Miss Crystal?" I raised my head to look directly at him.

"Vesta, Keith, Zion and lastly Cordelia. Same order they appeared on earth." My voice seemed strange in my ears with the feeling that everyone was watching me. Killian nodded and went back to his place where he could watch everyone's movements.

It seems that I have a lot in common with my professors, we have the same feelings towards Alarick.

Two weeks passed and every single boy on the training team had improved their skills on Archery. I had to train late, some minutes before the sun would start vanishing from the sky for the moon to replace it. On October 12th there will be a competition in Vesta, between young people who would like to become a knight one day. The winner will gain glory that would seem useful in his future. I have to prepare these kids, I don't want to humiliate myself and the academy. I gathered them and stood in front of them, Blade right next to me waiting to hear what I had to say.

"Gentlemen, I think it's time. Grab a sword and split up in pairs. We have a competition to win." Everyone's faces lightened up and immediately ran to the equipment. Blade laughed at the image of them and tapped me on my back saying good luck.
