chapter 3

After Emily left the baby, in that meantime no people are there or come around for something.

Our baby also very quite and sleeping peacefully in that basket didn't know about,  what her mother did to her.

After few hours, she got hungry and her eyes Search for her mother but her mom is nowhere, she started to cry.

After, 1 hour a car came that side and stopped hearing her cry sounds.

James- 58 years

Retired police officer his wife Rose died in poor health condition and he have one son. Now he have one diner which his wife's dream . After she died he still wants to run the diner because he still loves her so much , that diner reminds him of her.

Ezra- 22years

He is a microbiologist and working in a research center.

And sometimes he also help his father in diner.

JAMES POV.

       we both are return in late-night to our house , both means me and my son Ezra.

Ezra is sweet boy and always help when he has free time and today us Friday so we both are got some groceries for diner.

I really tired and want to rest as soon as we reach the house.

But when we are going to cross the flowers shop that located in our way , we hear a baby's crying sound .

It was very clear and near. So we stopped the car and start to search for the for the baby . When searching,  I heard Ezra shout my name when I got there he held a baby in his hands, now stops crying.

He is smiling , it shocks me because after his mother died , he stops smiling like that but , now he is smiling.

When I got near him I was shocked to say something because there he has a little baby not even a month looking at him with innocent eyes.

I come out my shock , when Ezra said the baby was a girl, "A GIRL"

He still not moved his eyes and looking at the baby like he has his favorite toy.

But when look at the surrounding for anyone, I got one basket I think it's the baby's. I take that basket and asked Ezra to come wanted to leave this place .

"I think someone didn't want this baby and thrown her here". Ezra said.

" dad  can we keep her" Ezra asked me while walking to the car.

I was still thinking, how someone has the heart to throw her like this.
She looks so innocent.

" I don't know Ezra " I answered him.

What if she has family out there, Who wants her?

Ezra looks like he wants to kill someone now, I don't know he will get angry like this.

" look at her dad she looks so cute, I want to keep her  if ,you don't  want then I can take care of her on my own. they don't want her that's why she is here now. Please dad can we keep her "he asked while looking at her with so much love in his  eyes.

This is the first thing he asked after his mother died . After she died he shut himself from others, he loved his mother so much. He can't accepted the fact she died .

But now he is smiling, and speaking to me normally.  I thought for some time and said yes . A bright smile appears on his face which is makes me very happy about that decision i made.

We reach the house , and he asked me is she have a name or not.

I was searching the basket for anything belong to her , when I got a letter. That has a name ' FEATHER SANTIAGO '

I read that loud when Ezra asked me "is it her name "?

Yes , it's her name' feather' but she has a family name behind that.

In that letter there is no other information about her only her.

We feel something different with her, I feel the protective towards her even though I know her few hours.

Ezra still smiling and playing with her in his lap.

"Her name is beautiful like her and today   onwards she is my' JEWEL' like my favorite in RIO like her name related to the birds ".

I  smiled at that. When he is young he like to watch Rio movie and his fav was jewel .

Suddenly we both come out of our talks when she starts to cry. I think she is hungry I don't know how long she is there.

I am going to ready the milk bottle for her. You keep entertaining her with that I starts toward kitchen.

Our baby was looking at Ezra with small smile like she was thinking now someone is giving her warmth she needs .she snuggled in his chest like a baby bird,  this  cause Ezra smiles like he is winning something best.

" oh my little jewel, are you hungry?"
She looks at him innocently , when James come out of the kitchen with milk.

Ezra take it on himself to giver her milk . His smile didn't falter not even a bit . Now he like her  so much as his baby sister  even though she is not his blood related. 

He already decided ,her as his sister when he first took her in his arms  first time . He feels happy after a long time.

After finishing the bottle , our baby feels sleepy because she cried for an hour, she snuggle to Ezra and let's out cute yawn.

They both are smiled looking at her.
They both smiling like this after long and they don't want to stop that.

Now she is belong to them. They will keep her like there own.
