Taylors POV

I stood in line for my favorite coffee checking my clock nervously every other minute. The leaves outside of the cafe had started to turn all those beautiful shades ranging from yellow to maroon a month ago and the unusual warm october we were experiencing this year seemed to manifest smiles upon peoples faces.

The smile it usually managed to bring forth in me, along with my good mood, had made space for nervousness and a bad feeling in my stomach today. I was supposed to have a blind date today and my friend had set me up claiming he was just the perfect guy for me , my future husband even.

I had scoffed at the idea but the hopeless romantic in me paired up with the people pleaser inside of me and ended up agreeing to the date. I wasn't in the mood for one, not even in the slightest. My last relationship had ended up in shambels and that had been for the better. And even when the nights sometimes got colder and alone with cats to cuddle instead of Jake  I knew it was better this way.

The only thing that upset me was the fear. The fear of getting older and still not finding the person I could start a family with or I could see myself getting married to. I just wanted to settle down finally. I loved my job as a lector and editor with a few good, well established clients and some new ones, I had gotten a cute cottage style house, with quirky furniture and hand painted walls and cabins I knew I wanted to get old in and my cats were by now nice enough they would not hurt a baby.

my eyes found the toddler in line infront of me, a little boy with wild red curls, thick glasses and the cutest smile on his face while he chewed on his toy, his little hand clambering onto his mothers hand while his big brown warm eyes looked up at me curiously.

It didnt help my baby fever in the slightest but i couldnt help , giving the little boy a wave , which he immediately reciprocated, his smile growing wider before his mother tugged him forward and his attention shifted to her, reaching his little hands to the woman he loves so much, who also immediately scooped him up, blowing a raspberry on his cheek.

yeah i really couldnt complain about the way my life had turned out and yet there was one thing or well one person missing. Someone to give me all that. I didn't see myself as a single mother , couldn't do that but I also knew I had always wanted kids and who knew maybe this person I was about to meet was my perfect match.

When I finally made me way rto the front of the queue and reached the counter a friendly smiling barista greeted me , the little sign on his apron reading Todd.

"hey what can I bring you today, gorgeous?" he asked with a charming smile which I reciprocated politely hoping he wouldn't misunderstand it.

"I get a chai latte for here please and also I'm here for a blind date, have you seen someone named-" before I could finish the man rolled his eyes and walked off to make my chai without even charging me, "table twelve".

I turned around scanning the room to find table twelve on which a prawny man with greacy black hair sat , tapping on his phone. His back was towards me and the screen in his hands showed he was swiping on tinder in a speed that scared the shit out of me.

Before I could move further, someone tapped onto my shoulder carefully. "if you'd rather have coffee with me I wouldn't say no." I spun around gasping as I saw who stood before me.

-Flashback-

I sighed softly as Abby talked into me more and more trying to convince me. "common Taylor, Lukas Till is cute and he likes you and I'm so sure he will ask you to be his girlfriend, just meet up with him! He had a skateboard!"
