The only one suffering from their Hogsmead visit was Poppy, who came to breakfast the next day looking like a total mess. She remembered everything though, which was good, but still seemed sorta out of it. Jane encouraged her to maybe forgo drinking when she came of age.
The rest of the weekend, and the subsequent week went by much as anyone could expect. Hungover Poppy was about the only thing of note. The friends spent time together, they studied, went to classes, helped Jane with her work, and just went about their school lives.
There was no new drama, no majorly embarrassing events (although at this point it really was the norm), and basically no story plot advancements. The few things that did happen came from completing most of the teacher's second assignments. So now she had all the spells she would learn before the first trial.
Speaking of the first trial- the date was almost here. Jane met with Fig a few times during the week, planning anything else necessary for their excursion. By Friday it seemed everything was in order for the next day- and that's when she started to feel a bit uneasy.
She could barely focus on Astronomy later than evening, and both Amit and Leander could tell that something was up. She tried to dissuade them by saying she just felt a little bit unwell, and said she would probably go to the nurse once class was over.
Well class hadn't even ended when Professor Shah basically ordered her to go get checked out she was looking so pale. She collected her things, waved goodbye to her two friends, and headed down the flights of stairs. Even though she did agree to leave class, she was in no way planning to actually go to the hospital wing.
The castle was already starting to empty out since it was getting so late, so Jane didn't pass anyone as she made her way towards the DADA classroom. With again not a soul in sight she pulled out her wand and opened the secret door into the undercroft.
She had thought about going to the ROR, which would have been a much quicker walk, but decided against it. She felt like shit- but she really needed someone she could talk to. And her options were Fig (no.) or the boys standing there waiting for her.
"You ended early-" Ominis called from the other side of the room. She smiled hearing his voice, even just that helped her feel a little bit better.
"Shah made me leave class early to go get check out-"
"Whoa you look terrible." Sebastian said as soon as she was close enough to see. He promptly closed his mouth though as he realized how fucking brutal that sounded.
"Gee thanks-" she said, dropping her bag to the ground and moving to lean against one of the crates.
"Wait I'm serious Jane- you look like you're about to pass out. Maybe you should head to the nurse" When she looked over at him she saw the genuine concern in his eyes. She really must look pretty bad.
"Well I feel like I actually might I'm so fucking stressed, but I can't chance being stuck there tomorrow."
"Ah don't be stressed- everything is going to be fine!" He said, moving towards her and pulling her into a hug. She accepted and let his embrace envelope her.
"She's allowed to be stressed-" Ominis hissed, moving towards them. He unceremoniously pulled her out of his hug, for whatever reason, and instead moved her over to sit on a crate. She hopped up, not caring to fight back.
"She has to go and complete a trial made by some crazy old wizard which has, who knows what inside of it. Telling her not to be stressed isn't going to make her feel better-"
"Well what do you suggest then?!" Sebastian countered, sounding and looking very annoyed.
Ominis turned to face her direction, now also looking concerned.
