The group gathered in the main room of the mortuary, a somber atmosphere hanging over them as they prepared for the day's tasks. Tixo, however, was noticeably agitated, his gaze frequently drifting towards the door as if expecting someone to walk through it.

“Something’s not right,” Tixo muttered, pacing back and forth. “Ambrose hasn’t been around for days. He would’ve checked in by now.”

Greyson, noticing Tixo’s distress, approached him. “Have you tried reaching out to him?”

“I’ve called and messaged him multiple times,” Tixo replied, frustration evident in his voice. “He’s not answering.”

Suddenly, Artemis, Greyson’s owl companion, fluttered in through an open window. The owl perched on a nearby shelf, its eyes locked onto Tixo with an intense, almost urgent stare.

“What’s up, Artemis?” Greyson asked, noting the owl’s unusual behavior.

Artemis hooted softly, then took flight, heading toward the door. The group exchanged puzzled looks but quickly followed the owl outside.

Artemis led them through the winding streets of Darkwood, finally stopping in front of the familiar, ominous tent of the circus. The once-sinister glow of the tent now seemed even more foreboding in the dim light of the late afternoon.

“Why are we here?” Onyx asked, a shiver running down his spine.

Before anyone could respond, Artemis swooped down and landed on a nearby pile of discarded circus props. The group approached and noticed a pair of familiar objects among the clutter—Ambrose’s war fans, lying abandoned and covered in a thin layer of dust.

Tixo’s heart sank as he picked up the war fans, his hands trembling. “These are Ambrose’s,” he said, his voice cracking with concern. “But why are they here?”

Greyson examined the surroundings, his expression growing serious. “The circus... it’s been a source of dark energy. If Ambrose is connected to it somehow, we need to be very cautious.”

The group stood in uneasy silence, the gravity of the situation settling in. Ambrose’s disappearance and the presence of his war fans at the circus indicated a deeper, darker involvement than they had anticipated.

“We need to find out what’s going on,” Tixo said, determination replacing his initial anxiety. “And we need to find Ambrose, no matter what it takes.”

The group, fueled by a renewed sense of urgency, steeled themselves for whatever lay ahead. They knew that the circus held more secrets than they had ever imagined, and that Ambrose’s fate was intricately tied to the dark forces lurking within.
