Dear wonderful readers i hope you've been enjoying this series. Fear not it's going to go for quite a while more. Most of the coming stories will be on the shorter side. But I've got a couple that will be longer. To wet your appetite I'm including here a look into a coming story.
(Pre-finale editing)
Excerpt:
"Thank you." I say and hurry back. But when I get there, he's gone. Frowning I wonder if he went to find the bathroom or something similar but a search of the entire house shows he's not there. I hurry out to the party but he's not there. As big as he is I know that I'd be able to find him if he was there.
"What's wrong Ulie?" Lici asks as she steps up.
"He's gone!"
"Who's gone?"
"Ryan."
"The guy you were taking the beer too?"
"Yes."
"Maybe he just went home. Probably not interested then."
"You don't understand. He's my mate." I saw her eyes go wide.
"He's your mate? Does he know that?"
"Yes. We went to the piano I played for him, we made love. Dad called me back to the party. I came told him who I met. Then went back but he wasn't there. I searched the entire damn house and the grounds. He's gone. Why would he leave?"
"Did you do something?" I grunted.
"I don't know but thanks for asking the question I'm torturing myself with. He was nervous but eager. I didn't press until he made a move to want more. It was great. He did want to wait on the claim but... I don't understand."
"Did you get his number, know where to find him?"
"No. I didn't think to, he was here, why would he leave."
"What kind is he have dad call their alpha."
"Paul."
"huh?"
"Paul Garrison is his uncle. Where's dad?" I saw dad next to the food and hurried over. "Do you know how to get a hold of Paul Garrison?" I ask with no explanation.
"He's numbers in my phone, why?"
"I need it." I say pulling out my phone.
"Why?" I sigh and explain what happened. He gives me the number and I dial quickly. After explaining who I was and what happened I asked for Ryan's number.
"I'm sorry son, but until I talk to my nephew I'm not gonna do that. Give me your number I'll give it to him and if he wants to call you he can."
"But... he's my mate."
"Then he'll call you. He probably just got nervous and panicked. He's an omega it could happen. Stay calm I'll talk to him. I bet you hear from him no later than the morning." I sighed.
"Alright. If I hurt him or scared him or something I'll make it up to him I promise."
"I don't doubt it. What's your number?" I rattled it off then he said goodbye. I spent the rest of the night with my phone in hand, looking at it every few minutes.
"He'll call." Lici said sitting down next to me on the steps of the back porch.
"Why would he leave? What could I have done? I'd fix it if he'd just call me."
"I doubt it was you. You are too good of a man to have done something to him."
"I just don't understand. What if he hasn't called because he's hurt or something? What if someone attacked him, or he had a car wreck or..."
"Ulie, calm down. I'm sure he's fine." I groan and drop my head into my hands.
"I should have done the claim, at least I'd be able to talk to him that way." why would he leave? Didn't he want me? Had he doubted I wanted him since I made love to him first? But I wanted to claim him, I asked, that was pretty clear I wanted him for more than sex. God damn it.
I waited. And waited some more. I paced my room all night and finally when the sun was coming up again I called Paul back.
"Is he there? Is he alright?" I asked after saying hello.
"He's home. He's fine. I gave him your number."
"Did he say anything? I just don't understand why he left."
"To be honest I don't understand either. He was pretty upset when I talked to him on the phone. He didn't say much but did insist that he didn't want to see you."
"But if he refuses me he'll get sick I don't want him to get sick."
"I don't think he's refusing you, I just think he's confused about it. He's had a rough few years. Just give him some time. He'll come around."
"How can you be sure?"
"Because I know him well. Trust me just give him a few days."
"Alright, but let me know if I can help. I'll fix it if I've done something. Or help if he needs me."
"I'll tell him."
