HYUNJIN's POV:

"CAN ANYONE OF YOU GODDAMN OFFICERS PLEASE FIND OUT WHERE THE HELL JIYEON AND CHAN ARE? IT'S BEEN TWO FUCKING DAYS SINCE I LAST SAW THEM. I MISS MY BEST FRIEND AND YOU BETTER BRING HER BACK. AND CHAN. ALIVE," I yell at all the police officers at the station.

I had too many emotions pent up inside me ever since I last saw the one person I trusted my entire life with, and this wasn't my first outburst in the last 48 hours. I was going crazy.

Chan and Jiyeon left to the forensics lab to collect some test results two days back, but they never made their way back here. Even worse, neither of them picked up my calls or responded to my texts. I was worried sick and even stayed in at work till the crack of dawn. I haven't slept a wink in the last two days and with the stress of figuring out whether or not she and Chan are alive, I was pretty sure I was growing grey hairs on my head.

"Captain Kim, please, do something! They're your best detectives and you know this station is nothing without them," I plead to the captain as soon as he walks into the office.

"I know, son. We're trying our best to find them. Please be patient till then," the old man replies quietly, walking away from me immediately after. I knew for a fact that if it was the other way around where someone else went missing and Chan and Jiyeon were still at the station, they would've been on their feet till the culprits were caught and justice was served.

A reminder of another person at the station suddenly comes across my mind and I immediately run upstairs to meet him.

"Haechan, you're the last person that spoke to them, right?" I ask, panting after running upstairs. He looks at me and nods, sporting the same stressed out look as I did. It was only going to be two weeks since Jiyeon and Chan had been assigned to the Inferno murder case, but they seemed to have already formed a good bond with Haechan and Jaemin from the IT department.

"Do you have any idea where they were when you called them? Did they say anything?" I ask with too much hope, despite knowing he most likely didn't have an answer. He gives me an apologetic look.

"They didn't, but now I'm starting to wish I asked," he says, rubbing his temples. Jaemin, who was sitting next to him the entire time, sighs. I fall to my knees as a tear falls down my face.

What if I had failed to look after the one person I had vowed to myself to protect, no matter what?

CHAN'S POV:

"Seo Changbin?" Jiyeon and I say at the same time with a puzzled look. For some odd reason, the buff man returns the look of bewilderment. Maybe he wasn't expecting us to recognize him?

"Seems like we can skip introductions, then. Although I must let you know we are in no hurry at all," he says in a false reassuring manner and it irritates me.

"Just cut the crap already," I say under my breath, which thankfully goes unheard by him. Jiyeon hears me, though, and gives me a stern look as if to warn me not to go overboard. I exhale loudly. Just for how much longer do we have to be stuck like this?

"Let me tell you a bit about myself. Oh wait, I don't need to since you already know everything about me!" He exclaims manically as he claps his hands together. I roll my eyes at him.

"Actually, we don't," Jiyeon speaks up, shifting everyone's attention from the crazy man to her. If this guy was dumb enough to expose himself, her move would've been genius. Instead, he switches his expression to a serious one, walking closer to her.

"Do you take me for a fool?"

"Since it'll be a while till we get out, might as well make it worthwhile," she retorts sassily, and little guy scoffs.
