Prologue: September 1
The school bell rang, signaling the end of another day, and the campus was soon alive with the hustle of students leaving their classes.
Laughter and chatter echoed across the grounds, blending with the rustling autumn leaves. Among the crowd was a girl with [H/L] hair and bright [E/C] eyes, walking quietly by herself, a soft red scarf wrapped warmly around her neck.
The cool breeze tugged at her hair, and as she walked, she noticed a group of students up ahead handing out flyers. One of them approached her and casually handed her a flyer, which she took without much thought. Curious, [Y/N] glanced down at the brightly colored paper.
'Halloween is just next month! We're hosting a party with exciting challenges and friendly competitions! Don’t forget to wear your spookiest clothes! The scariest costume will win a certificate and tickets to Yensidland!'
“Isn’t it a little early for this?” she muttered to herself, more amused than annoyed as she folded the flyer and stuffed it into her pocket.
As she continued down the path, lost in thought, she suddenly felt something solid beneath her shoe.
“Huh?”
[Y/N] glanced down, startled, only to see a small porcelain doll lying face down on the ground, covered in dirt from where she had stepped on it.
She knelt down, brushing off the grime to reveal the doll’s delicate features. Its glassy eyes stared up blankly at her, and the faded dress it wore added an odd sense of charm. “Someone must’ve dropped you,” she murmured quietly, scanning the area for any signs of an owner. But the students passing by were too caught up in their conversations to notice anything out of the ordinary.
A faint smile tugged at her lips. “You’re kinda cute, so I think I’ll keep you,” she decided, slipping the doll into her bag. It wasn’t often she found something so unusual lying around, and besides, no one seemed to be missing it.
With the doll tucked away, [Y/N] stood back up and continued her walk home, the crisp autumn air swirling around her. The warmth of her scarf kept her cozy, but there was a subtle weight in her bag now, one that seemed heavier than before, though she paid it no mind.
The day carried on as usual, but unbeknownst to her, the doll in her possession was far from an ordinary find.
