Today was my moment with Anya, and unlike my older brother, I intended to keep her all to myself. We reclined in the library, nestled on an expansive burgundy couch, her legs resting comfortably on my lap as I gently stroked her feet.

She was deeply absorbed in yet another medical journal, while I discreetly held my Kindle.

It may seem unrefined to possess a Kindle, but I couldn't afford for her to discover the contents of my reading.

The title was "How to Be a Good Father." I preferred to keep this knowledge from her for two reasons: it would only heighten her discomfort, and she still remained uncertain about her decision to carry the baby to term.

My deepest aspiration was to embody the essence of an exemplary father for our child, an experience I longed for but never knew. The pages of this book illuminated qualities such as support, care, and attentiveness, virtues that define an admirable parent.

While William would undoubtedly excel in these areas, my desire remained to nurture our child's happiness and wellbeing with unwavering dedication.

The serene hush of the library shattered by the creak of the door swinging open.

Anya's gaze snapped from her journal, her surprise evident as she turned sharply toward the entrance.

Her brow furrowed in bewilderment as she scanned for the origin of the disturbance.

There stood my elder brother, William, framed in the doorway.

It's remarkable how he seems to appear just as I think of him.

Clad in a pristine white shirt, sleeves rolled to his elbows, and tailored trousers, he epitomizes the notion of relentless ambition-who dresses so formally on a sun-kissed Mediterranean isle?

Was he not feeling hot in these clothes? But alas, who could reason with him? Not me, for sure.

Anya's silent curiosity was swiftly quelled upon the arrival of a familiar figure in the library.

With an air of undeniable confidence, William approached, his presence commanding attention.

"I have been searching for you, princess," he declared, his gaze fixed on Anya.

Her interest piqued, she instinctively prepared to understand his intentions.

"Why?" she inquired softly, her innocence betraying a hint of apprehension.
