It had been a week since the day Pihu had spent being pampered by her brothers. Though their love and care had worked wonders in lifting her spirits, the thoughts of Samar still lingered at the back of her mind. The understanding they had come to about their past had brought some peace, but it also left her wondering what their future would hold.
Today, however, Pihu was not thinking about the past. She had a meeting scheduled at Rajwansh Jewelers, and coincidentally, Samar would be there as well to discuss some collaborations between their businesses. They had avoided each other since their last conversation, both choosing to focus on work rather than emotions. But fate had other plans.
Pihu entered the conference room at Rajwansh Jewelers with a sense of professionalism, her demeanor calm and collected. She was determined to keep things business-like with Samar, even though her heart had other ideas. As she settled into her chair, she glanced at her brothers, who were already in the room, discussing some last-minute details.
Soham noticed her arrival and gave her a warm smile. "Ready for the meeting, little bird?"
Pihu winked and said. "Of course. I'm always ready."
Just then, the door to the conference room opened, and Samar walked in, flanked by a few of his team members. He looked just as composed and focused as Pihu, but she noticed the brief flicker of recognition in his eyes when they met hers. He gave her a polite nod, and she returned it with equal professionalism.
As the meeting progressed, Pihu and Samar found themselves sitting across from each other, discussing terms and ideas for the collaboration. Their conversation was polite and straightforward, both of them carefully avoiding any personal topics. However, there was an undeniable tension in the air, a tension that only they could feel.
At one point, while reviewing some documents, their hands accidentally brushed against each other. The brief contact sent a jolt through Pihu, and she quickly pulled her hand back, her heart racing. Samar, too, felt the spark, but he remained composed, his eyes lingering on her for just a moment longer than necessary.
The meeting continued without incident, but Pihu's mind kept wandering back to that small, fleeting touch. She could feel her brothers' eyes on her, especially Soham, who seemed to be silently assessing every interaction between her and Samar.
When the meeting finally concluded, and the business matters were settled, Samar and Pihu were the last to leave the conference room. Her brothers had gone ahead with the other members discussing about the deal ahead, giving her a moment alone with Samar, though it was likely unintentional.
Samar hesitated at the door, then turned to face her. "Pihu," he began, his voice quiet but steady, "I know we've sorted out what happened in the past, but... there's still so much we haven't talked about."
Pihu looked up at him, her heart pounding in her chest. "I know, Samar. But... maybe some things are better left in the past. We both have lives to move forward with now."
He nodded slowly, understanding her words, but not entirely agreeing with them. "Maybe. But... I can't help but think that we still have unfinished business. There's a part of me that feels like we never really got the chance to know each other—who we are now, not just who we were back then."
Pihu's gaze softened. She knew what he meant. They had been so young, so caught up in their emotions and misunderstandings. Now, as adults, they were different people. But the pain of the past had left scars that neither of them could ignore.
Before she could respond, the door opened, and krish stepped back into the room. He raised an eyebrow at the sight of them standing so close together. "Everything okay here?" he asked, his voice calm but with an underlying protectiveness.
Pihu quickly stepped back, putting some distance between herself and Samar. "Yup, krishu. We were just finishing up."
Samar gave krisha polite nod. "We're all set here. I'll see you at the next meeting."
With that, he walked past krish and out of the room, leaving Pihu standing there with her thoughts swirling. krish watched Samar go, then turned to his sister. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked, his tone softer now that they were alone.
Pihu nodded, though her mind was still replaying Samar's words. "I'm fine . Really."
krish wasn't convinced, but he didn't push the issue. Instead, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and led her out of the conference room. "Come on. Let's go home. You've had enough meetings for one day."
As they walked out of the office, Pihu couldn't help but glance back at the door Samar had just walked through. She couldn't deny that there was still something unresolved between them. But for now, she would focus on her work, her family, and the life she had built for herself.
That night, back at the Rajwansh mansion, Pihu found herself lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts—thoughts of Samar, of the past, and of what their future might hold. She knew that things weren't as simple as moving on from their misunderstandings. There was still so much left unsaid, so many emotions left unexplored.
And as she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't help but wonder what the next chapter of their story would bring
