New York, USA.
It was a cold autumn night in New York, with orange and golden leaves covering the sidewalks. The glow of pumpkins lit up the streets, while children ran around in costumes, filling the air with laughter and shouts of "trick or treat." Aurora was at home, adjusting her angel costume. Her red hair gleamed under the soft light of the room, and the small golden halo hung slightly above her head.
The little angel couldn't help but sigh as she watched through the large window of her house, seeing the children in their incredible costumes going door to door, asking for candy at every stop.
"Are you ready, Aurie?" asked Dominique, her twin brother, as he adjusted his vampire cape. They were always together, but there was something special about that night. It was the Halloween dinner at their parents' old friends' house, and Aurora was eager for what was to come.
"I am, but I don't understand why we can't go trick-or-treating." Aurora softly complained, trying not to sound rude, just as her mother had taught her. But she couldn't help feeling a little disappointed.
"It's Halloween, after all." Dominique grumbled, sounding decidedly rude.
Adrien, the older brother, pulled a face. "I agree with Dom, but we need to be patient. Can you do that, Aurie? I promise I'll give you all my candy afterward."
Aurora eagerly nodded at her brother's question—there was no way she could say no to that.
Adrien looked nothing like her, but he was secretly her favorite sibling. He had black hair and brown eyes. While Aurora was the spitting image of their mother, Adrien looked like a younger version of their father.
"Come on, kids." Emily, their mother, appeared at the bedroom door, calling them, trying to keep the little group calm. "I know you'd rather go trick-or-treating, but Thomas and Emma are old friends of ours, and we've missed them."
Antoine, their father, stood behind his wife, nodding in agreement and smiling at the children. "Plus, it's a great opportunity to socialize. And who knows, you might make some new friends while you're there!"
Aurora, watching the scene, continued adjusting the wings of her costume. "Don't worry, Mom," she said with a smile. "I think it'll be fun. And we can always go trick-or-treating next year."
"Easy for you to say, Aurie," Claude retorted. "You're way too sweet compared to the rest of us."
"She must've been adopted." Dom muttered, trying to annoy Aurora. It was a difficult task, since it seemed like his sister had stolen all the good patience, leaving none for him.
But he still loved her.
"She's your twin, you idiot." Adrien said, smacking Dom on the head, scolding him for speaking that way to the only girl in the group.
