SunakiSabakuno is an artist on Deviantart and drew pictures of Hidan as Otsutsuki, who was supposed to represent Jashin. This was the trigger for numerous theories. There are a lot of videos on the topic on YouTube, but the trend can also be followed on Facebook, as there are a lot of profiles with the name Jashin Otsutsuki. There are posts about Jashin as Otsutsuki on fanom sites and the like. To put it briefly. Jashin Otsutsuki is or was THE SHIT. This theory(s) can be debunked pretty quickly.Theory 1: Hidan is actually Jashin and an OtsutsukiIf I understand correctly, the theory says the following. Jashin actually just imagined that he was Hidan. That's why Hidan is immortal, because he is an Otsutsuki or God of the Otsutsuki.
No. Otsutsukis are not immortal. Otherwise they wouldn't use karma. Otsutsuki have to infect other living beings with their karma, i.e. their DNA, so that they can take over their bodies after their death. So they change their body. Hidan doesn't do that. You can chop him up and he's still alive. But let's just say that as the god of the Otsutsuki, he is immortal. What interest would he have in finding disciples on earth and then having them massacre everything? Otsutsuki are primarily interested in collecting chakra and thus becoming stronger. Above all. Why focus on Earth, when he can wreak bloody carnage across the universe? And why, if he is immortal as a god, are the Otsutsukis not? Also, that doesn't fit with what Orochimaru said. So there were already several Jashinists and there was an experiment through which Hidan became immortal. Hidan also came from Yugakure and grew up there. In fact, it's hard to imagine that Hidan is Jashin. And what must have happened to the poor guy that he ended up worshiping himself?Theory 2: Jashin is an OtsutsukiIf Hidan became immortal through an experiment by the Jashin cult, we conclude that Jashin, as a god, is also immortal. Otsutsukis are NOT immortal. Otherwise they wouldn't use karma. Otsutsuki have to infect other living beings with their karma, i.e. their DNA, so that they can take over their bodies after their death. So they change their body. Hidan, as an example, does not change bodies and cannot be killed. No. Jashin is a deity of the earth and, like the god of the dead (Shikigami), the being with whom Hiruzen Sarutobi had a contract, a supernatural being. And the god of the dead is certainly not Otsutsuki, otherwise the color of the horns and skin would be different. Otsutsukis hunger for power and in the process destroy all life in this universe. So it makes no sense for an Otsutsuki to found a religion on one of thousands of planets. The only Otsutsuki who spent more time on Earth than she should have been, is Kaguya. And it wasn't intended that way. That's why other Otsutsuki became aware of this planet in the first place. If a Jashin had been missing, they would have noticed and commented on it immediately. But they were only talking about Kaguya and her team partner.Theory 3: Jashin is Shibai Otsutsuki
Jashin cannot be Shibai Otsutsuki either, because he became a god by consuming chakra fruits. So he is not really a god and was sealed for a long time. Shibai destroyed numerous worlds as a result and he didn't care. And how could he have interacted with someone from Earth through his sealing and for what purpose? Jashin is primarily interested in chaos and destruction. Shibai focuses on his power. It is also unknown whether he also became immortal as the god of the Otsutsuki. I'm guessing he'll still have to use karma if he gets killed. Shibai and Jashin cannot be the same person as their goals are completely different and Shibai is focused on a higher goal than Earth.

No matter how you twist it, Jashin can't be an Otsutsuki. That's why I hope that this theory goes away soon.
