What do we already know about Jashinism? - Jashinism is a religion invented by mangaka Masashi Kishimoto. Because this religion is so small, it is also called a cult. It became known through the character Hidan, who made his first appearance in chapter 312 of the manga volume 35. This volume was published on November 2nd, 2006 in Japan.So-called Jashinists worship the god Jashin. Their religion is Jashinism (Jashinkyo). Jashin appears to be some kind of Buddhist disaster god, according to a Wiki article. He is also known as the Chaos God or God of Destruction and Death. His name means something like "Evil God", "Evil Heart", "False God" or "Evil Design". Other interpretations would also be "god of evil" or "herald of doom". Jashinists call their god Lord Jashin (Jashin Sama) or Demon of Fear (Kyofu no Jashin). Jashin is a male god (Kami) and members of the religion pay homage to him in a Church of Jashin. Nothing further is known about him or his appearance.Religious members are required to make blood sacrifices to their god. The victims should be killed as painfully as possible (in combat). Anything else is not tolerated in religion. That's why Hidan doesn't take part in fights where he's not allowed to kill. It also seems to be customary to hold a half-hour prayer after each battle. "Please give me strength so that you can get many victims." seems to be a little prayer said before battle. Asking forgiveness for "killing good" or if the victim was not killed also seems to be part of it.Jashinists are generally not immortal. There is a new religious group called Jashin's Way. So. I guess you could call them a cult. I received information that the group recently succeeded in a certain experiment. - Quote from Orochimaru from "Naruto Shippuuden Legends: Akatsuki Risin"What many don't know is that Hidan is or was the one immortal Jashinist. This was made immortal through a religious experiment. It became clear again through Ryuki, who also tried to become immortal through an experiment. It is unclear whether the documents used were genuine and whether Ryuki really belonged to Jashinism. The Jashin religion is best recognized by its symbol. This symbol consists of a circle and an inverted triangle within it. The triangle represents femininity. another interpretation is "turning the world order upside down." Hidan has a prayer beads with this symbol on it, Ryuki has a ring with the symbol on it.The Jashin religion seems to be very much defined by blood and curses. Members have to make blood sacrifices and Hidan's technique, the "Jujutsu: Shijihyouketsu", only works with the opponent's blood. So the opponent suffered the same damage as Hidan. Ryuki copied Hidan's technique by using his opponents' blood to control them using a puppet. It is also very distinctive that the techniques are called "Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood" and "Curse Technique: Body Controlling Manipulated Blood".Both techniques have an effect that can be compared to that of a voodoo doll. Another interesting thing to note is that Hidan's appearance while using his curse technique resembles that of a shikigami.
