THIRD PERSON P.OV
The afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the city, spilling through the large windows of the cozy café where Naya and Zari had decided to unwind after a busy day. The café, known for its laid-back atmosphere and artisanal coffee, was a stark contrast to the high-stakes meetings they had just come from. The gentle hum of conversations and clinking of cups created a soothing backdrop.
Naya took a sip of her coffee, her eyes drifting to Zari, who was adjusting her seat, clearly trying to relax. The tension from their earlier interactions was still palpable, though now they were in a different setting, away from the boardrooms and business suits.
“Do you come here often?” Naya asked, trying to break the silence that had settled between them.
Zari glanced around, taking in the café’s ambiance. “Not really. I usually stick to places closer to the office. But this is nice. It’s… peaceful.”
Naya smiled, nodding. “Yeah, it’s one of my favorite spots. I used to come here a lot when I needed to clear my head.”
Zari nodded, but her mind was elsewhere. The subtle reminder of the café’s familiarity tugged at something in the back of her mind, though she couldn’t quite place it. She forced a smile, not wanting to dwell on it. “Well, it’s definitely a good change of pace.”
They fell into a comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Naya watched Zari, noting the way she fidgeted with her cup. It was clear she was still processing the day’s events. Naya, on the other hand, was trying to find a way to lighten the mood without drawing too much attention to the unspoken tension between them.
“So, have you had a chance to check out any of the new spots around the city?” Naya asked, attempting to steer the conversation towards something lighter.
Zari shook her head. “I haven’t had much time for that. Work’s been pretty demanding lately. I’m hoping things will calm down soon.”
Naya chuckled softly. “I can imagine. We’ve been in the same boat with this project. It feels like there’s always something new to tackle.”
Just as she spoke, the bell above the café door jingled, signaling someone’s arrival. Naya’s attention shifted to the entrance, her eyes lighting up with recognition. Zari glanced over, curious about the sudden change in Naya’s demeanor.
A stylish woman walked in, her presence immediately commanding attention. She had an air of elegance and confidence, her every movement seemingly graceful. Dressed in a chic yet understated outfit, she exuded a classy charm that was hard to miss. Naya’s expression brightened as she stood up, waving the woman over.
“Hey, Sophia!” Naya called out, her voice carrying a note of genuine enthusiasm.
The woman, Sophia Lee, looked over and smiled warmly. “Naya! It’s so good to see you!” She approached their table with a friendly grace, her eyes then settling on Zari. “And you must be Zari. I’ve heard so much about you.”
Zari stood up, a bit taken aback by the sudden introduction. “Yes, I’m Zari. Nice to meet you, Sophia.”
Sophia extended her hand, her smile never faltering. “The pleasure is mine. I’ve heard nothing but good things about you.”
Naya gestured for Sophia to join them. “Please, have a seat. We were just catching up.”
Sophia sat down, her presence instantly adding a new layer to the conversation. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything. I just thought I’d drop by and say hello.”
Zari shook her head, trying to adjust to the new dynamic. “Not at all. It’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard your name before, but we haven’t had a chance to meet.”
