Namjoon's POV
As soon as I spotted Pelum my heart broke. She looked horrible...even though she was asleep you could clearly see the depression in her face. Her heart ache was felt throughout the room.
I ran by her side when I saw her. It wasn't my most graceful stride but I made it to her and gripped the lonely girl's hand. The first instinct I had was to comfort her, now matter how pointless my efforts were I still wanted to show her I cared.
It was my fault she felt like this...I should have been there for her.
"Saranghae, I should have been there for you, I'm sorry," I whispered, I needed to tell her how I felt, maybe just maybe she would wake.
"Talk about the girls..." Jimin's voice echoed from behind me, sounding cold yet caring. "Katrina said she was worried about the girls before this happened...in the note she left she thought it was her fault, I know you want her to know you care, but save those words for her when she wakes up. Maybe talking about the girls will make her feel comfort." I looked back at him, he was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed and had a partially blank stare at Pelum.
He had a good point... "Pelum..." I started, I squeezed her hand tighter, "Myeong's healing, Hailey is about to go into a boot since her leg is healing, Kat's headaches are gone, Suga has a surprise for Sabrie, Rose remembers everyone,"
Pelum's heart monitor started to speed up as if it was awaiting Whitney’s story. I wanted to be hopeful that she would wake so maybe a white lie that she can't hear wouldn't hurt.
"W-Whitney is showing signs of waking up soon, I want you to be there when she wakes. I know she wants it too." Her heart monitor slowed back to a normal paced beeping like her subconscious was reassured everything would be just fine
I waited a moment just staring at her before kissing her hand; there was an IV drip in her wrist causing me to be more cautious of this arm.
Her whole body was pale, her face more than other places. Her black nail polish from before the crash was still on her nails, just chipped away.
Her hand in mine I felt her fingers move slightly, and her sad face scrunched as if she noticed a bright light.
There was quick steps running from the doorway, I assumed it was Jimin going to tell the others.
"Nnngh" she groaned as her hand flew up to shade her eyes from the light.
She tried to look around and her face loosened when she noticed me. She couldn't tell who I was; that was evident by her eyes squinting at me and rapidly blinking.
"Joonie?" Her voice was rough like someone who has been smoking for 40 years, and it went out halfway through my nickname.
"Shh, it's me, you don't need to speak right now you'll only hurt your throat." I stood and put one finger over her lips to quiet her, then moved for a water bottle nearby.
There was loud stomping that sounded like a stampede of Buffalo coming towards the room. It caught the attention of medical personnel and they followed behind.
The group had very hopeful looks in their eyes and Jimin was 'trying' to lead the way. Katrina and Sabrie were so happy that they passed the running expert multiple times only to fall behind and start all over again.
Nothing can stop Katrina and Sabrie when they have a goal this important, they will always be there for anyone.
A/N: Sorry for the short update but I wanted to get an update out. Today I saw that this story has 1000 reads, and I know that's not much being there are 30 parts in this story and all views are split up between each chapter; but seeing this literally brought me to tears. I remember being excited seeing this series at 100 reads and every time the number goes up I feel like my fun past time is actually worth something. I started this story as just a stupid thing for my friends and I thought it was something only they would read, but it got semi-popular and I wanted to continue it. I can't express how much this means to me, so thank you.
