AUTHORS NOTE:

I can't believe this is the 50th chapter. Thank you all so much for reading this little story made by a 14 year old inspiring author. I know my story isn't brilliant, but practice makes perfect!

I'm supposed to be resting now since I have only got about 3 hours of sleep in total over the past week due to being unwell, but oh well. I didn't want to leave you all waiting. (Sorry, mother.)

It's crazy to me that this is the 50th chapter, so let's make it a good one!

P.s I would suggest listening to the song: Iris by the Goo Goo dolls when you read this. I'll put a 💙 when you should start playing the song. (If you want too, of course.)

HARRY'S POV

I'm so excited. Today is the Yule ball!

Draco and I headed over to our friends in the Great Hall and took a seat. Draco placed his hand on my thigh under the table, and I shuffled closer to him, great full for the warmth he gave off.

I couldn't help but notice a slight tension in the air between my friends. Draco must have noticed as well as he shot me a concerned look.

"Is everything alright?" I asked, carefully, looking between my friends.

"I don't know, ask Ron." Hermione scoffed, looking at the ginger
Who rolled his eyes.

"This is ridiculous. Ron, can I please talk to you outside?" He nodded his head. I gave Draco a peck on the cheek before I stood up and followed him out of the room.

I pulled him into an empty classroom and sat on top of one of the desks. "Right, so what is going on?"

Ron shrugged. "I don't know what you are talking about."

It was my turn to roll my eyes, "Oh come on, Ron. I could cut the tension with a knife back there. We've been friends for years, you can tell me anything."

Ron groaned, "I genuinely am not sure what is going on with Hermione. We were talking about the ball earlier, and all of a sudden, she just started acting cold towards me."

Oh, I have an idea about what might have happened. "What did you say to her, Ron?" I asked, leaning forward, eager to hear what he had to say.

"I was just talking about how my mother had sent me the most ugly dress robes ever, and I didn't want to  wear them. Oh, and then Hermione started talking about how she didn't have anyone to go to the ball with, and I mentioned that I was going with Lavender. After that, Hermione just started acting weird."

I sighed and buried my face in my hands. I knew exactly what had happened. "Did you even want to go with Lavender?" I asked.

Ron shook his head. "No, I just didn't have anyone else to ask."

"Did you tell Hermione that?"

"No, she had already started acting strange before I got the chance to."

"Oh, poor helpless Ronikins." I muttered, internally eye rolling.

"What? You are starting to sound like the twins." Ron said, a confused expression plastered across his face.

"Seriously, I thought I was the oblivious one." I muttered under my breath.

Ron still just stared blankly at me.

"If you could go to the ball with anyone, who would it be?" I asked.

"Hermione." Ron eyes widened, and he covered his mouth with his hand as he realised what he said.
