Siren held the door, and Hawk and I went inside. The room was big, with a high ceiling, and bookshelves covered the walls. Ladders connected the ground to the top shelves.
My mouth hung open slightly; a huge chandelier hung down. Glass drops reflected the light in small rainbows. Hawks's hand left me, and then I stood alone. I blew air out of my cheeks with raised brows.
My eyes landed on a desk.
"It's nice to finally meet you in person." A male voice said from the desk.
I narrowed my eyes accusingly. He had grey hair combed to the side, grey stubble, and blue eyes.
"I am Henry Dain Johnsen, but most people know me as The Wolf."
Ohh, Codenames!
I kept my eyebrows raised as I stared at him.
I crossed my arms, stubborn, but stayed silent.
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions." He rested his chin on his folded hands, on his elbows.
"What is G.H.?" I now had Sirens ID in my hand. There was a picture, her code name, Age, and G.H.
He laughed. "It is my organization, Ghost Unit."
"And you do like shady business?" I asked as Siren went to retrieve the card with a scowl.
"Yes and no. We aren't exactly legal, but we don't sell drugs if that's what you mean."
I'm so confused.
"Are you like... gonna kill me or something?" I still had the rope in my pocket. I mean, if they wanted to kill me, I might as well just dig my own grave. I can't do sh*t.
"Oh, no. We want to recruit you." My heart picked up speed
"Um, I'm twelve." He nodded, and my mouth hung open.
"Why on earth would you want me? I'm like the..." I gestured to myself.
"Scrawny, poor, quiet kid."
He chuckled
"You fly under the radar, know how to be invisible, and are a skilled pick-pocket."
"Think about it.-
For now, you'll be known as The Red Fox. "
(A/N: sorry for all the backstory stuff. But I thought it was kinda necessary. The next chapter is going to be back in her present time. Enjoy :D)
