Anya dragged her suitcase behind her, eyes scanning the unfamiliar campus. She followed the directions to her hostel, a modern brick building nestled among towering trees. As she approached the entrance, she felt a Pang of homesickness.
Inside the hostel was bustling with activity. New students were unpacking, and groups of friends were chatting in the common area.
Anya found the warden's office and knocked on the door. A woman in her late forties, with a warm smile greeted her, "Hello there dear, welcome to our hostel".Anya introduced herself and handed the warden her admission papers. The warden reviewed them and nodded. "Ah, Anya, you're in room 202, let me show you the way". She said and started walking, and Anya followed her.
As they walked through the hostel, the warden pointed out the common areas, the laundry room and the library. "We have a strict curfew here," she said, " please make sure to be back by 10 pm every night".
Anya nodded " I understand". As they reached room 202, the warden stepped aside. "Here's your room, and if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask". She thanked the warden and watched as she walked away.Anya turned towards her room and hesitated before knocking on the door. A girl with a long curly hair opened the door. "Hi, you must be Anya," she said with a smile. Anya nodded, "That's me, sorry I'm late".
The girl introduced herself as Olivia, "No problem, we've been waiting for you, this is Arundhati", She pointed at a petite girl with short brown hair.Arundhati waved and said, " Hi there, welcome to our new home". Anya thanked them and stepped inside. The room was cosy, with three beds, a small desk for each of them and a shared closet. The air is thick with the scent of sweet and stale air, and the curtain drawn over the window darkens the room.
Once she had made herself comfortable in her new room, the girls engaged themselves in a lively conversation and got to know each other, Anya couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation, she was starting a new chapter in her life, and she was eager to see what the future held.
We should probably head to the auditorium soon, "Olivia said, glancing at her watch. " The welcoming ceremony starts at eleven". Arundhati nodded " let's go".
Anya quickly unpacked her essentials, grabbed her bag and followed them out of the room, but not before glancing in the mirror and adjusting her hair and outfit. She wanted to make a good impression.
As they strolled through the winding corridors, they reached the auditorium, teeming with excited new students. Drawing a deep breath, Anya stepped into the vibrant throng of students, her friends at her side as they made their way into the auditorium. Her heart, a drumbeat of anticipation, guided her to a seat in a bustling auditorium
The welcoming ceremony was a blur of speeches, introductions and cheers. Anya tried to pay attention, but her mind was racing with thoughts of new friends she was about to make and the exciting adventure that awaited her.
After the ceremony, the students were given a tour of the campus, Anya was amazed by the size and beauty of the university. There were sprawling lawns, towering trees, and modern buildings. The university offered a vibrant student life, with clubs, societies, and exciting events. The freshers were eager to explore their new academic home and become part of this thriving community.

As I stood on the steps of the administration building, gazing out at the sprawling campus, I felt a surge of exhilaration and expectation. The university was everything I had hoped for and more. I knew that this was just the beginning of an incredible journey, filled with new experiences, lifelong friendships, and endless possibilities. I couldn't wait to see what the future held.
