Drew's POV

Today was one of those days I'd been looking forward to for a while. I love my job, and I love working for Taylor—there's nothing quite like being in the mix of her world. But, as much fun as that can be, there's no place like home. Taylor gets that about me; she knows I can't wait to get back to my wife, Anna, and our kids every chance I get. So when she told me I could head home a day early, I didn't need to be told twice.

Tay "Alright, Drew, so I'll see you next week, right?"

"Yeah, Tay, see you next week," I said, adjusting the strap of my bag.

Tay "ok call me when you get home ok?"

Drew "will do"

With that, I waved goodbye and made my way out. Boarding the jet Taylor lent me felt like a weight lifting off my shoulders, the flight from Kansas City to home was pretty short, but it gave me time to think about the kids, about Anna, about how much I missed them all

they were expecting me tomorrow, but this time, I had a little surprise in mind. Thanks to Taylor giving me the green light, I was arriving a day early, and I couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces when I walked through that door.

The plane touched down smoothly, and before I knew it, I was driving through the familiar streets toward our house, Everything felt so right the suburban quiet, the little houses lined up neatly, the distant sounds of kids playing somewhere down the block,

Pulling into the driveway, I parked, turned off the engine, and just took a second to sit there, soaking it in. There's nothing like coming home after being away. The house looked as it always did: warm, welcoming, and full of life, thats what I loved about this place it was quiet and calm the only noise being the local kids playing

I got out of my car and grabbed my bag from the passenger seat, headed toward the front door, and as soon as I stepped inside, I could hear them the familiar voices of my family.

Adam"Hey, Mom, Dad's home tomorrow, right?"

Anna "Yes, Adam, tomorrow,"

Adam "Well, then why is he standing right behind you?"

Anna "Drew! You're home! I've missed you so much. We all have, what are you doing home early?"

Drew "I've missed you, too, babe. It's good to be back, and tay sent me home a day early"

Ella "DADDY! I made a drawing for you!" she squealed, holding a piece of paper out toward me like it was the most valuable thing in the world.

Drew "Aww, thank you, sweetie. Tell me about it."

Ella  "That's you! See? youre in front of the queen, and over here, that's the king he loves the queen he is wearing a football shirt! You wear a suit 'cause you have to keep them safe, Daddy and there are no knights any more because they are old so you wear a suit!"

Drew "Wow, this is amazing, sweetheart. You know what? I'm going to put this right on the fridge and keep a picture of it on my phone so I can look at it when I'm away, Deal?"

Ella "Deal, Daddy!"

Adam "Hey, Dad! Wanna play catch? I've been practicing!"

Drew "Of course, kiddo. Let's go,"

we went outside to the back yard where we had a lot of room we were able to find a decent property out here where we live and its the most amazing place we used to live in NYC full time but decided we wanted somewhere with plenty of room for the kids
