Jealousy Confession.
– In-Love Seokmin x Broken Hearted Joshua.

———

Joshua sat on a park bench, his face a mask of quiet sadness. He looked detached, almost ethereal, a stark contrast to the turmoil churning inside. His two-year-long crush had been rejected, a fact that hung heavy in the air, unseen yet palpable. He’d called Seokmin, needing the comfort of their usual meeting spot. Seokmin hadn’t arrived yet; he was running late.

Joshua glanced repeatedly at the park entrance, his gaze searching. Then, Seokmin burst into view, breathless and slightly disheveled. He scanned the area, his eyes finally landing on Joshua.

“Shua!” Seokmin exclaimed, hurrying to the bench and collapsing beside him, still catching his breath. “Sorry, Hyung, I tripped and… and forgot to turn off the iron!” He offered a slightly sheepish grin, oblivious to the reason for Joshua’s urgent call. “So, why’d you call me?” he asked, his cheeks flushed, trying to mask his nervousness as Joshua met his gaze directly.

“Well, Chae rejected me,” Joshua said, his voice quiet but steady. “I just… needed to hang out.” Seokmin’s eyes widened in concern. “Hyung, are you okay?” he asked, his voice filled with genuine worry. Joshua offered a small, weary smile. “Yeah… thank you for asking.” Seokmin nodded, his heart aching. Of course, his crush was heartbroken over someone else. Joshua knew that.

Even though Seokmin’s heart ached at Joshua’s sadness, a bittersweet mix of pain and adoration filled him. He wanted to curl up and cry, but he was here for Joshua, his older brother figure. It wasn’t either of their faults that Joshua saw Seokmin as a younger sibling. “Of course, Hyung!” Seokmin replied, unaware of Joshua’s nascent guilt over his own obliviousness.

“Of course!” Seokmin repeated, his smile unwavering as he looked at Joshua. Joshua returned the smile, ruffling Seokmin’s hair, a gesture that caused Seokmin to freeze momentarily before a softening smile spread across his face. Seokmin loved Joshua more than words could say, his heart a whirlwind of hurt and devoted affection.

“Hyung, let’s go somewhere and forget about her,” Seokmin suggested, his eyes softening. Joshua nodded, a flicker of gratitude in his eyes. “Hm, let’s do that.” Seokmin jumped up, extending a hand. Joshua readily accepted it. Joshua’s only thought was, No matter how heartbroken I am, Minnie won’t get hurt. That’s for sure.

Later, Seokmin sighed as he closed the bathroom door behind him, a faint smile lingering on his lips as he replayed the day’s events. It had been a rare, precious moment, a connection that felt both familiar and intensely fresh, a comfort he hadn’t felt with anyone in days. It was Joshua.

The smile soon vanished, replaced by a familiar ache as he collapsed onto his bed. He stared at the ceiling, the weight of his unrequited feelings pressing down on him. Joshua liked someone else. Seokmin liked Joshua. The contrast was painful.

Was it selfish, he wondered, to wish Joshua would love him instead? To resent the brotherly bond that kept him at arm’s length? Seokmin hated that Joshua saw him as a younger brother, hated that Joshua didn’t like him that way, hated that Joshua had affections for someone else. He hated it all, but was it truly selfish to hate it?

He didn’t know when the tears started, or when sleep claimed him, but he cried for his deep, enduring love, cried for the impossibility of it all. He drifted off to sleep, knowing that tomorrow, his feelings for his Hyung would remain unchanged.

Joshua frowned, watching Seungjae and Seokmin. Seungjae’s name was the only thing he’d heard from Seokmin lately—their rare hangouts now dominated by the other boy. It was infuriating. He hated that Seokmin was with Seungjae, not him.

Initially, it had been fine. But Seokmin barely spoke to Joshua anymore, completely absorbed by Seungjae and his… questionable flirting skills. Joshua felt a jealous pang he couldn’t quite explain. He’d let Seokmin do his own thing, but now… the situation felt unbearable.

Seokmin, oblivious to Joshua’s silent observation, giggled as Seungjae leaned in, flirting again. They were lost in their own world, unaware of the third person watching. Seungjae took Seokmin’s hand, catching him off guard. He sighed, then looked intently into Seokmin’s eyes. Joshua imagined himself in Seungjae’s place, and Seokmin’s imagined blush made him clench his jaw.

The secluded spot was quiet; it was late, and they were alone. Joshua remained frozen, a simmering anger rising within him as the scene unfolded. Seungjae kissed Seokmin’s temple. Seokmin’s eyes widened, a surprised flush creeping onto his cheeks. He didn’t feel anything, just… disorientation. He gulped as Seungjae spoke.

“Seokmin, this is sudden, I know, but I need to tell you something…” Seokmin’s eyes widened further, unprepared for the confession: “I like you. Not as friends, Seokmin… I like you, like like you.”

Before Seokmin could respond, a fist connected with Seungjae’s jaw, sending him stumbling. Seokmin’s eyes darted to the source—Joshua. His heart lurched. He’d completely forgotten he’d invited Joshua. Guilt should have surged, but his immediate concern was for Seungjae and the angry, intimidating Joshua.

Seungjae met Joshua’s furious gaze, the tension thick and suffocating. Seokmin felt insignificant, caught between two erupting volcanoes. He tried to intervene, but hesitated, his eyes widening in shocked disbelief.

“Why the hell did you punch me?!” Seungjae’s voice was sharp, escalating the conflict. Joshua’s response was even more explosive: “Why the hell are you confessing to him?! You’re not allowed to even touch him! I am!”

Seokmin’s jaw dropped. Jealousy? He looked from the fuming Joshua to Seungjae, who smirked before returning his attention to Joshua. Another punch landed, this time on Joshua’s lip.

Joshua’s jaw clenched, but Seokmin intervened. “Hyung, what are you doing?!” Joshua grabbed Seokmin’s wrist, a firm but not painful grip. Seokmin, sensing what was coming, glanced at Seungjae, who nodded in understanding.

“Yeah, I know,” he mumbled. Relief washed over Seokmin—briefly—before the intensity of the situation returned. Joshua dragged Seokmin towards his house, which thankfully was nearby.

Joshua slammed the door, pinning Seokmin against it. Seokmin blushed, his breath catching in his throat. What was Joshua about to do? He waited, his heart pounding.

Joshua leaned close, his breath warm on Seokmin’s cheek. “Fuck it, Min, I fucking like you too! Fuck that, I love you!” His lips crashed against Seokmin’s, taking him completely by surprise. Shock gave way to stunned acceptance. His crush was kissing him.

The kiss deepened, a desperate exploration of each other’s mouths. Joshua bit Seokmin’s lip, a silent request for more, which Seokmin readily granted. His shock transformed into a thrilling surrender. He was kissing back, his own feelings overwhelming him.

Joshua’s hands found their way to Seokmin’s hips, pulling him closer until Seokmin’s legs were wrapped around his waist. They tangled their tongues, both lost in the intensity of the moment. Joshua’s hands moved lower and a moan escaped Seokmin’s lips.

Breaking the kiss, Joshua stared at the blushing, downcast Seokmin. He smirked, carrying him to the couch, gently holding his chin, forcing him to meet his gaze.

“Look at me. Please… and tell me, do you still like me?”

Seokmin’s throat bobbed. He gulped, “Yes… yes, Shua-hyung.”

Joshua smiled, leaving a quick peck on Seokmin’s lips before trailing kisses down his cheeks, his jaw, sucking on his skin. Seokmin’s breath hitched. The kisses continued downward…

And from there, the intimacy intensified, leading to a passionate lovemaking session punctuated by whispered words of love and desire, a night of uninhibited passion that left them breathless and utterly consumed by each other.

“Lee Seokmin,” Joshua murmured, his voice husky with afterglow, “you’re mine.”
