Yinyang sat in their room, sitting on top of their bed with the blankets covering their body. Their knees were brought up close to their face as they stared into nothing.

They look at the window, seeing the dark navy blue sky. They haven't eaten dinner yet and it was starting to get late as the seconds ticked by.

'Yang, don't you think we should—'

'I'm not hungry.' Yang cutted him off in a slightly harsher tone than usual.

'...'

'Okay...' Yin knew that Yang was not in the mood at all tonight. It was common for him to be like this occasionally, but it was happening way too often that week. It was weird.

Yinyang could feel their own body slightly trembling. Yin's concern was rising by the second, but he couldn't do anything about it. Yang hugged their knees tighter as his mind slowly went haywire.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid–" He mumbled to himself as he could feel tears forming in his eyes. He clutched onto the blankets and brought it over to cover their own body, as if they were hiding from something.

He tried his hardest to just– pull it together and suck it up. Just like he always does. But he failed miserably, the tears slowly running down their face. He shoved his face in the blankets, soaking up his own tears.

He was so pathetic. So, so pathetic. It was just a stupid thought in his head. Why couldn't he just push away the thoughts like it was nothing again? He felt like a child. A child having a breakdown over one little thing that won't matter tomorrow. A stupid child. Stupid child.

He let out a small sob as he slowly sank further into the mattress, tightly shutting his eyes as he did so. He hated this so much. He felt useless without Yin there to help console him. He was probably sick of him by now. It was all his own fault. His own fault.

The loud chatter from numerous contestants filled the hallways. Cabby sat around the dinner table, quietly eating her own food. She quickly glanced around the table, noticing one empty seat.

She had a confused look on her face for a moment as she went back to eating, pretending like nothing happened. That was weird. She would investigate that later.

As dinner time ended, the majority of the contestants went back to doing their own things. Cabby decided to head upstairs, as she had nothing better to do than to note down things she observed throughout the day. She took the stairs as she made her way up to the upper floors.

As she walked through the hallways, she could hear a bit of chattering and other noises she couldn't make out. She continued walking until she heard something out of the blue.

She turned her head to look at the room directly beside where she stood. She could hear muffled noises coming from that specific room, but she could barely make out the sound of sobbing. She steps closer to the room, trying to figure out who was in it.

She realized it was Yinyang.

But Yang was the one sobbing.

Wait. They didn't come down for dinner yet.

She stood there for a moment. She thought about it for a moment and simply went back downstairs. She would come back later again.

Yang could feel their throat tightening as they attempted to muffle out their sobs. He hated being like this. He hated it so much. Their body was shaking like a leaf and he couldn't seem to bring himself together. It felt impossible.

Everything was so loud yet so quiet. The thoughts in his head were so loud but the silence made it unbearable. He kept mumbling things to himself which were along the lines of insults targeted to him, him only. Not to Yin, himself.

Between the train of thoughts in his head, he could hear a soft knock on the door. There was a pause before the door opened, revealing Cabby peeking from the corner with a plate in hand. She immediately noticed that they were hiding under the blanket; she swore she could see them trembling a tiny bit.

"Yinyang?" She softly called out, hoping that they would actually answer.

"What do you want?" Yang decided to reply, sinking further into the bed as he attempted to maintain a steady tone.

"I noticed you didn't come down for dinner, so I brought some." She steps closer, putting the plate on the nightstand for now.

"We're not hungry."

"...I heard you, by the way." Cabby stared at the floor; rather at nothing. Yinyang clenched their hands.

"Go away." His voice slightly cracked. Shoot.

"I'm not leaving until you let me know what's wrong." She sits down on the edge of the bed, tugging at the blanket covering their own body.

"..."

"Bad mood. That's it."

"I'm staying, I don't care what you say." She shifted closer to them, still waiting for them to take off the blanket.

Yang gives up. He gently pulls the blanket off of their body, staring directly at Cabby. She noticed his slightly red eyes and the shakiness of their body. So she was right. They were crying.

She lets out a sigh before saying, "Come here..." She opens her arms, inviting them for a hug. They slightly hesitate before tightly hugging her back, burying their face into her shoulder. They could feel the tears immediately coming back. They shut their eyes closed tightly, trying to ignore the tightness in their throat.

She could hear him mumbling unintelligible things to himself as he slowly sobbed louder and louder as the clock ticked. She gently strokes the back of their head, just praying that it will help comfort them.

"I–I'm so sorry–" They barely choked out, trying to somehow manage their own uneven breathing. She faintly hushed them as they cried even more.

"It's alright, Yinyang." She mumbled, loud enough for them to hear.

Yinyang eventually fell asleep from pure exhaustion. Cabby looked at the plate of food that was already cold by now and looked back at Yinyang. She knew they would probably panic if she left so suddenly, so she decided to stay. They would deal with the food problem later, for now they just needed to focus on getting some well-needed rest.

She plants one tiny kiss onto their head before going to sleep herself.
