Jeongguk arrived at work ahead of the schedule and kicked off his day with a spring in his step. The solitude in the workspace energized him, and he hummed along as he cleaned the counters.

Jeongguk's smile broadened at Altan's entrance, completed with an exaggerated bow that added a final playful enthusiasm to his day.

"You are early today"

"Yeah, I decided to be mindful of our undermarinated CEO's temper"

"Oh goodness! You surely have not had the taste of overmarinated one"

Jeongguk playfully dusted off the dirty cloth in Altan's direction, who retaliated with a cough and a mock hit. Jeongguk feigned a counterattack, but before he could land a blow, Altan took off running.

In an instant, the two friends were engaged in an intense game of chase, dashing across the lounge with laughter and shouts. Fortunately, the early hour meant they had the space to themselves, sparing their coworkers the spectacle and both the young males left no crumbs.

Altan's frantic dash came to an abrupt halt as his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of a figure he hadn't expected, yet somehow wasn't surprised . His heartbeat accelerated, driven by both the run and a creeping sense of dread.

Jeongguk seized the opportunity, landing his long-awaited blow but his victorious giggle died on his lips as he beheld Altan's traumatized expression. Curiosity got the better of him, and he traced Altan's gaze to the figure...
Shoulders squared, arms crossed, and eyes narrowed, their unwelcome visitor seemed to embody an aura of sheer disapproval.

Jeongguk strode purposefully toward the elder male. "Good morning, esteemed and venerable Young Kim sir," he said, executing a deep, exaggerated bow that nearly touched his nose to his knees.

Altan watched, wide-eyed, as Jeongguk's display of feigned devotion. This dramatic mf should have been Shakespearean box office hit.
Young Kim's expression remained inscrutable, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Gu- Good Morning, Jeongguk," the elder male wickedly covered up his slip of tongue, his voice low and measured.Jeongguk straightened, his face still a picture of innocence.

The shorter of them walked back to Altan and whispered, "Handle him, I don't want to ruin my day."Altan nodded and turned to the elder male.

"What would you like, sir?" Altan asked.
But the elder male kept staring at Jeongguk, tracing his movements.
"I see you've been drinking a lot of coffee lately," Altan added. "That's quite a surprise."

Taehyung snorted, "Need it to deal with people's bullshit." The elder male's gaze remained fixed on Jeongguk, his expression unreadable, yet his head shaking.

Bold of you to assume that jeongguk didn't stop his task to glare at the unwelcomed male, with invisible smoke fuming out of his ears, but as soon as he did Taehyung looked away and cleared his throat.

"Uh- uh... espresso with almond milk" he exclaimed and raised his eyes once again to look at the shorter male but was caught again. He looked away and heard a giggle. His ears might be getting red.
"I'm sorry what?" Altan inquired expressing his confusion.

"Yeah?" Taehyung finally took notice of Altan's presence.

"You asked espresso and almond milk??"

"Uh sorry. Just almon- uh espresso" the giggle was heard once again.

Jeongguk when I catch you jeongguk.

Taehyung eyed Altan preparing the order, while jeongguk leaned over the ice stocker and began fishing through it.
Come here, stand in front of me, look at me and talk to me. Write my name with your hands and pour me whatever that caffeinated drink is and hand it over to me or just simply do better at your job.
Taehyung wanted to say but he feared he won't be able to come up with anything, once the younger male open his mouth and he also didn't want to ruin the younger's gleeful day. Not by any chance. Not by any mistake.
