Crystal's POV
I stood on the sidewalk and watched as Lucian's car drove off, smiling to myself as I remembered the light kiss he showered me with before dropping me off. I turned to face the building I was supposed to enter feeling nostalgic as I stepped into the building, the familiar scent of paper and books filling my lungs.
A loud female shriek caught my attention but before I could turn towards the sound, I was tackled into a bear hug which I instantly returned once I realized who it was.
"Oh my God, you could have told me you were coming" she chided lightly holding me at arms length before enveloping me into her embrace once more.
"Yeah... sorry about that, it was a last minute thing" I mumbled out
"No problem.....we have a lot to talk about lady " she released me turning to face the counter in the library where she whistled out.
"Cover up for me" she told one of the girls behind the counter before pulling me out along with her to the shop opposite. We took the seat beside the window which had a clear view of her shop and the busy street bustling with people going about their daily activities. We ordered two large milkshakes once settled in.
"Sooo.....spill" she grinned eagerly causing me to chuckle lightly.
"Well, a lot has happened since the last time you visited, I met his dad"
"Wow and how did it go"
"It went well, he was so nice and kind to me when I initially thought he would kick me out the moment he sees me" I played with my fingers nervously taking a long sip from my cup.
"Oh sweetie, not everybody is like those dipshits" she rolled her eyes referring to my supposed family members.
"Yeah...I know now....I made a new friend her name's Lily and she's a witch"
"That's cool, it's about time you had a friend " I was about to argue and say she is my friend but she beat me to it.
"A friend your age" she pointed out causing me to laugh, I loved the dynamic in our friendship.
"Yeah, she's nice.....Nina came over" I blurted out after a moment pause which grabbed her attention.
"Are you okay?" She placed her hand on mine which warmed my heart deeply.
"Yeah...Lily was there with me so she wasn't able to do anything"
"Can't her rotten brain register that Alpha Lucian is no longer interested, I heard he broke off their engagement, it's been the talk of the city" I also saw some news headline about it but none had told the reason why which I was relieved of, I wouldn't want my name to be on the lips of clueless people who would judge based on the things they hear.
"Uhm..I was thinking of something but I don't know how Lucian would react to it, I know that he is around to protect me, even Lily and the endless guards around the house but I want to train....like learn how to fight and defend myself" I clarified when I noticed her dumbstruck expression. I fiddled with my fingers as the silence between hung thick.
"That's great, wonderful indeed but I don't think Lucian would agree immediately"
"Exactly my point, I think he wouldn't want me to go through the training because of what I've been through but I really need it.......I know I shouldn't be thinking about this but what if Lily wasn't there with me when Nina came around I..."
"Alright now, let's not think about that, I believe he would see reasons with it just let him know first" I nodded my head grateful that I had someone to tell this to.
Lily had to go see her mother this morning, something about her older brother, Evans being around so I couldn't exactly tell her about it.
"How's greg doing?" I asked watching as her smile grew
"He's doing fine, great actually " she smiled
"Soooo, how's living with your mate? Any juicy details?" Her suggestive tone made me laugh as my face heat up.
"Well....."
"I knew it...spill young lady" she placed her hands under her chin as she gave me her undivided attention.

"What!, that's amazi...ng" Lily exclaimed, her voice going faint at the last part when she noticed the look on my face.
"Why is your face like that?, have you spoken to Alpha Lucian about it?" I looked down effectively answering her question.
"Wh...ohhhh" she scooted closer to where I sat watching me for a few moments.
"He may not react the way you think he would"
"Yeah I know, I plan on telling him this evening when he gets back"
"Well, good luck but you do know that we all would protect you no matter the situation " she spoke and I knew she spoke the truth.
"Yes Lily I know, but I still need to know how to defend myself" she nodded.
Her phone rang but after looking at the caller she rolled her eyes and rejected the call.
"Gosh ....they need to stop placing me in between their banters all the time" turns out that her brother Evans came back from an official trip that involved their coven and refused to meet with their mother despite her obvious orders and now their mother wants Lily to speak some sense into his thick skull, her words not mine.
"Why don't you just meet him?"
"Well I would if the idiot picks my call...they are both too stubborn" i couldn't help but laugh at her frustrated expression.
"Glad you find the situation amusing" she ran her fingers through her hair
"Sorry....Why do you think he doesn't want to see her?"
"Why else, he just wants to rile her up since she clearly gave orders that he should come home straight after whatever the hell he went to do there and mom just can't overlook his disrespect" she huffs staring at her phone's blank screen.
Another ringtone went off but it was mine, which showed Lucian as the caller. I picked instantly wanting to hear his voice, I really missed him.
"Hey" his deep voice floated from the phone, I could hear some rusling in the background.
"Hi, how's your day going" I asked watching as Lily typed on her phone furiously her lips set in a straight line.
"Not good" came his instant reply
"Why?"
"Well you see, my girl isn't here with me and I miss her so damn much" his whiny voice made me laugh causing Lily to look at me with a smile on her face before leaving to the kitchen.
"How's your day?" He asked his voice laced with amusement
"Fine, I'm with Lily" I voiced looking to see if I would see her, she was nowhere in sight but I could hear the faint noise coming from the kitchen area.
"That's good, I'm about to have a meeting alongside Rex with some people and after that I'll be back home"
"Nice, I'll be waiting and stay safe" I mumbled out the last feeling excited that he would soon be back.
"Yes, your highness" he spoke in a British accent which caused me to giggle
"See you later princess"
"Bye" I whispered as the line went dead, I stared at the blank screen as my smile grew. If you would have told me that a day would come where I would be this happy, I would have laughed at the absurdity of the statement but here I am, happier than I have ever been.
"Okaaaayy....." Lily walked in with two plates grinning mischievously as her eyes danced between my phone and my red face.
"Thanks"I collected the plate she handed over to me, my stomach effectively taking that as a cue to growl lowly.
"This is wonderful" I complimented as soon as my teeth sank into the lovely sandwich she made.
We continued eating our meal in silence watching the show playing on the TV.
After several hours of watching some comedy shows, the sound of a car driving in drew my attention and I immediately jumped out of my seat sprinting towards the front door, I could hear Lily laughing in the background.
I opened the front door just as Lucian was closing his car door, his face lit up immediately he saw me and I couldn't help but run into his arms engulfing myself in his scent, gosh I missed him, he wrapped his arms around me nuzzling his face into my hair.
"Hey baby" he said once we pulled away before placing his lips on mine, I could never get tired of the feel on his soft lips, he ran his tongue over my bottom lips and I happily gave him access which he greedily took using one of his hands on my waist to pull me closer to him, we pulled away when we heard someone clear their throat. Lucian's lips were dark red and I believed mine was too.
"Sorry for disturbing but I just want to let you know that I'll be on my way home" she bowed her head slightly in respect.
"No problem....Have a good night" Lucian simply stated
"Thanks Lily " I waved at her as she waved back but i caught the mischievous wink she sent my way before sprinting off.
"Here" he gave me the white polythene in his hand that I didn't notice earlier as we entered inside the house.
"Thanks " I peered into the bag smiling once I saw the ice cream tub inside.
"You're welcome" he whispered against my lips before crashing his lips on mine.
As our lips collided, our environment faded, leaving only the two of us, lost in a storm of desire. His mouth devoured mine, his scorching lips searing my soul with a hunger that left me breathless.
His tongue ravaged mine, sending electric shocks coursing through my veins as his hands grasped my face, holding me captive. The heat of his body enveloped me, his hard chest pressing against mine, his heart pounding in sync with mine.
Time evaporated, leaving only the primal, all-consuming need that fueled our kiss. Every cell in my body screamed for more, every nerve ending sizzling with electricity.
His scent, wild and untamed, intoxicated me, drawing me deeper into the abyss of our passion. I felt his raw power, dominance and strength wrapping around me like a living flame.
Our kiss was a tempest, a maelstrom of desire that threatened to consume us whole. I was lost, drowning in the depths of his embrace, surrendering to the primal call of my mate.
Every fiber of my being thrummed with need, every thought erased but one: I was his, now and forever.
He pulled away so I could catch my breath but his eyes never strayed away from my lips, he tilted his head attacking my neck, i gasped my knees weakening but his arms held me in place as he ravaged my neck, his teeth grazed a certain spot which caused a little whimper to escape my lips but the sound was swallowed by his deep growl. His hands roamed my body possessive and firm igniting sparks wherever he touched, every brush of his skin against mine sent waves of pleasure through me and I arched against him craving more. It was like a fever burning through us, inside out, an insatiable need that grew with every second. He pulled back smiling down at my flustered state.
"Cute" he mumbled caressing my face with his knuckles.
"I want to go shower, open invitation in case you are interested" he pecked my temple gently leaving me in a dazed state filling my head with certain images I wouldn't dare say out loud. He smiled as if he knew what was going on in my head before heading upstairs. I happily hopped towards the living room where I plopped down on the couch sighing contently. I used my forefinger to trace my lips reminiscing about what just happened in my head.

"Uhm...can I ask you something?" I finally mustered up the courage to do so, we just finished dinner and we were sitting on the couch talking about random stuff.
"Yeah, of course" he responded watching me closely, he always does that but it gave me the assurance that he was listening to what i was saying.
"I..I..uhmm..d.do.."
"Hey hey princess.....calm down" he said slowly in a soft voice holding my hands in his much larger ones placing soft kisses on my knuckles which helped in calming my nerves.
"Okay...I was thinking if you would allow me train" I lowered my gaze feeling his intense one on me. It was quiet for a while before he finally spoke, his voice calm and collected.
"Train as in learn how to fight, self defense and all" his gaze was still on me watching my every movement.
"Yes" my voice came out smaller than I intended it to be.
"Is it because of what happened with Nina because she will no longer be a threat to you and I would always protect you" he spoke softly but I shook my head knowing that i want to do this for myself, yes, what happened with Nina placed some kind of fear in me but its not the sole reason. I've always been the weakling, the prey because I never fight back and now that I have the chance to do so I have to take it.
"Ok...if that's what you want just tell me when you are ready and I will take you to meet someone" he spoke after a long moment of him thinking. I flung my arms around him hugging him to show my appreciation.
"Thank you so much....but I would love to start tomorrow" I spoke, the thought of meeting another new person shook me a bit but the need to learn how to defend myself was stronger besides meeting Lily wasn't a bad experience. I was shocked that he agreed so easily, most books I read, Alpha's tend to hate it when their mate wants to learn self defense or train because it hurts their ego and it makes them feel as though they are not capable of protecting their mate.
"Tomorrow!....Angel are you sure? I won't pressure you unless you are ready, you know that right?" He cupped my face looking into my eyes.
"Yes I do and I am ready"I spoke with confidence as he looked at me with so much admiration and pride. He sealed our lips in a brief kiss.
"I am so proud of you darling" I blushed furiously and hid my face in his chest loving the rumble that came from him laughing.
