Brambles tear at my soft skin,
Malicious claws sink in,
Blood wells but I stand valiant,
An unmoving statue of stone,
I duck and wait for the inevitable scrape,
Instead the tangled depths part,
And I'm bathed in warm sunlight,
Sweet sunlight.
A/N -
With this one you've got to read in between the lines a little. It's supposed to be about finding genuine friendship after being in a toxic one and putting up with it for so long, but then in hindsight could be about anything. Interpret it how you like, i guess.
