things had gone to shit pretty quickly, was the simple way of putting it. shortly after john b had left the dock, officer shoupe had pulled up with a couple of police officers, along with agents from the sbi, which was just crazy. they were all sat in the back of a car, saylor sat close to jj with kiara on the other side of her, and pope at the other side of kiara. it was a large black truck that belonged to the sbi, mainly a man named roger. they were caught, and even though she didn't plan on admitting it, saylor was terrified.

it was dark out, and thunder was booming loudly in the sky. they had been told that a huge storm was brewing, and it wouldn't be long before it hit in full swing. that was the downside of living on an island. there were constant tropical storms, causing power cuts and breakages. saylor just hoped that this storm wouldn't be as bad as agatha was, because she wanted her electricity back. it'd be nice to watch tv again, especially since she was going to be very bored with john b gone.

the windows of the truck were black out, so badly that saylor could barely see out of them, even though that's all she wanted to do. they were pulling up to a large white tent, which was filled with almost the entire police force, which was crazy. there were hellicopters, boats, and a whole lot of cars. there were even news people taking pictures of the cars that were pulling in.

"i wanna go home. you can't keep me here, i'm seven!" saylor said to the man, roger, who was in the passenger seat.

"saylor, just pipe down. we'll call your dad, he can pick you up." shoupe said, making saylor's eyes widen. she hadn't thought of that. of course they'd release her into the hands of her father.

"you're not calling anyone, i'll take her home with me." jj quickly said, getting no reply as shoupe stopped the car outside of the tent.

"we'll figure it out. follow plum to that tent." shoupe said, as plum got out of her own car, the teens and saylor following behind her.

"they killed somebody." one of the people taking the pictures said. saylor wanted to snap at him, but she knew it'd do her and the others no good. it would only make things worse for them.

"right to your left here." shoupe said as they all got into the tent. it was nothing like saylor had ever seen before. it was crazy. there were a row of plastic seats, where they sat. "sit down, don't move. we got a lot to talk about. keep an eye on these kids."

saylor turned to jj once shoupe had left. "do you think dad will pick me up? i don't wanna go home when you're not there. he'll be angry if the police call him."

"it's fine. you don't have to go anywhere." jj shook his head, putting his hand on her shoulder. "don't panic yourself, all right?"

"but what if you go to jail? i don't— i don't want you to go to jail." saylor said, her breath getting caught in her throat as she tried to calm herself down, but it wasn't working.

"say, calm down. nothing bad is gonna happen, i ain't going to jail. neither is kie, neither is pope, and definitely neither are you. just stay calm, all right? if you freak out, we look suspicious." he said, making her nod her head as she tried to breathe carefully.

everything was just so crazy. the constant chatter of the people, the wailing of the sirens and the sound of the camera clicking. the thunder, the lightening. everything was too much, and she could barely breathe straight. knowing that john b, and possibly sarah, were out there, and all of the people in the tent were actually there for john b, an innocent boy, was just insane. it made her want to throw up, but just like jj said, she couldn't make them look suspicious. she couldn't be the one to ruin the plan for everyone.
