It was in the morning. The elementary school children were still on the playground. However, a girl with dark brown skin, black hair in a ponytail, and large gold hoop earrings in her ears, was walking down one of the school hallways with a book in her arms, despite the fact that she Recess time had not yet ended. As the girl walked, she saw a red-haired girl sitting next to the door of the principal's office. That girl was crying her eyes out. The black-haired girl would worry about the redhead, but she tried to stay calm, maintaining a sweet smile. Next, she proceeded to calmly approach the redhead. -Excuse me, are you Larisa Ginebra? Are you the girl who works in a circus? - Asks the black-haired girl. The redhead, Larisa, would raise her head and be surprised to see that girl next to her. -Jazz? What are you doing here? ..- Larisa asks, still surprised. -Well, nothing interesting... I just came back in here to do a couple of things that I had pending. Being the representative of my class, I carry a lot of responsibility. And what about you? - Jazz explains, sitting next to Larisa. The latter would feel somewhat sad. -I... well... I was on my way to my class to pick up something that I had forgotten... and while I was walking... Erm... I heard things that I shouldn't have heard...- Larisa answers. -Oh, and what did you hear? If you don't mind answering, of course- Jazz asks. -I heard that... my best friend died...- Larisa answers. Jazz's eyes would go wide with how surprised she was. -My best friend was autistic... and was in a wheelchair. He could not speak or move any of his limbs. Everyone was excluding him, just like they excluded me... and I didn't want him to feel bad... And I became his friend. To make matters worse, he had swelling in his legs, ankles and feet. We played together, we read books together, we studied together... We practically did everything together because he was my only best friend...- Larisa explains, holding back her own tears. Jazz's smile would fade from her face. -How stupid I was... How could I not notice that something was wrong with him when I saw that he was always short of breath during our activities? That and he also had a cough with white or pink mucus and spots of blood, nausea and lack of appetite, etc. How could I not realize before that he suffered from heart failure?...- Larisa continues explaining.
-Larisa, I really...- Jazz would try to speak. Larisa would interrupt her instantly. -He needed a heart transplant, and his parents did not have the money to pay for the operation. He just had to go into cardiac arrest before coming to school today. Right now I think... I was the one who caused his death. I forced him to do things he couldn't do... Even if his symptoms were already very noticeable. AND ALL BECAUSE OF MY DAMN FAULT! FOR THIS, I WILL BE ALONE AGAIN FOR THE REST OF MY MISERABLE LIFE! Others will continue treating me badly again! Disrespecting me and as if I were invisible! As if I weren't... Nobody- Larisa finishes explaining, letting many tears fall down her cheeks. Jazz decided not to say anything at that moment. Instead, she gave Larisa a stuffed animal. It was a bear with button eyes. Larisa instantly took the stuffed animal and hugged it tightly while she cried. Larisa handed the stuffed animal back to Jazz as the tears dried on her cheeks. -I wish I had a stuffed animal like this so I could hug every time I feel like this. I still don't understand why my parents don't want to buy me one...- Larisa says.
