I felt phenomenal in this very moment. I felt like all my worries and problems and jumbled thoughts could disappear forever. It was incredible. Whatever that bartender gave me really did the trick tonight. He has no clue the favor he just did me. Or maybe he thought he'd get a little something extra out of it. Who knows. I sure don't. And I definitely don't care. I got an escape for now and that's all I'm worried about.See, when all you have is a never ending pain all you want is never ending numbness. You want anything you can get your hands on to make you forget. To make you feel free of all that weight. You don't care where or who you get it from or what it'll cost you or them. You just need that one escape. That one high to last you until the next or until you find something better.
This high was definitely the best I'd had in a while. It got me moving and dancing to the music without a care in the world. I had no plans for the rest of the night except to get wasted and see where the night takes me. Preferably to someone's bed. But I'll take what I can get.
"Cam, come on, slow it down before you puke on my shoes again please?" Julie screams at me over the pounding music that surrounds us, breaking me out of my care free daze. "I just bought these and I would like to not have to burn them later."
Julie is my best friend and one of the girls I came here with tonight. We, well they, decided to have a girls night out to go have drinks and find some guys to carelessly flirt with. So Julie invited me thinking I could use some of her fix-all magic juju to boost my mood after I spent the last week locked up in my room. She knew something was wrong but didn't push which I was grateful for considering I couldn't ever tell her the truth and I hate having to lie to her. It kills me not telling her but it's best for all of us that way.
"Sorry Jules I already made up my mind and I'm ready to forget why I'm even here by midnight. No changing my mind." I very aggressively yelled and went back to my dancing even though I don't think she heard me completely due to the blaring music. After a while I headed off letting Julie know I was going to the bar in need of another drink and maybe a bathroom, and to go have fun without me for a bit.
It was a struggle to get to the bar and find a place to sit my big butt down at. This club was pretty well known and very full for a Wednesday night. I didn't expect so many people until at least Friday night but here we are with the only open spot left between two very large men both looking surprisingly pretty sober. How strange.
I very slowly walked up to the bar stool and sat down, careful not to bump into anyone. Once my butt finally made it to the seat, I looked up and noticed the man on my left who looked like he could lift 10 of me and more, turned slightly to give me a quick once over and then continued on his conversation with the bartender pretending I didn't exist which was quite usual for me. I'm used to getting ogled for hours and hit on left and right by gross perverts, not being brushed off. It made me pout a little.
"What can I get you m'lady?" Tony, the other bartender, asks as he tosses a rag over his shoulder and leans slightly against the bar ready to give me his full attention. Tony is on shift every time I'm here so now we're on first name basis with each other and we even talk outside the bar pretty often. He's quickly becoming one of my closest friends.
He's a pretty nice dude and would probably take a bullet for me if it came down to it. He would definitely help me hide a body. I know that because he's told me before. Very proudly. He's also very good looking. With dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, high cheekbones, and a nice jawline. He's slim, fit, and has muscles for days. Any sane woman would drop for him without a doubt.
Snapping out my daze I see Tony staring at me with his eyebrows raised waiting on me to answer him. "Ummm just surprise me I guess." I say since I couldn't decide what I wanted. He winks and turns around to start making my surprise drink.
