**16th February 2016 - Aarohi's 14th Birthday***The morning was cold, with fog blanketing the roads like a thick veil. The Sharma household was lively, despite the freezing February air. Little Aarohi, dressed in her favorite pink sweater, was bouncing with excitement. It was her birthday.*
**Small Aarohi:**
"Mummy, Papa kab aayenge? Itni der ho gayi hai! Cake bhi lana hai!"*Aarohi's mother, Anitha Sharma, smiled warmly at her daughter while folding a dress she had just embroidered. Aarohi's father, Rajiv, ran a small shop selling raw materials for clothing, so he was often busy. Today, however, Anitha knew he would come home early to celebrate their daughter's special day.*
**Anitha:**
"Beta, Papa bas aate hi honge. Jab tak tumhare liye cake lene chalte hain. Tumhara favorite wala, the chocolate cake, yaad hai na?"**Small Aarohi:**
"Yayyy! Mummy, mera favorite cake lenge, chocolate wala!"**Anitha:**
"Ha ha ha, haan beta, zaroor lenge. Pehle Bhagwan ji ke aage jaake wish maango aur unse aashirwad lo."*Aarohi darted toward the small mandir in their living room. Her small hands joined in prayer, and she squeezed her eyes shut, whispering softly.*
**Small Aarohi (praying):**
"Bhagwan ji, aaj mera birthday hai. Aapko toh pata hi hoga. Papa ko jaldi ghar bhej do. Hum cake lene ja rahe hain. Aapke liye bhi leke aungi. Aur aap hamesha mere saath rehna."*Anitha stood quietly behind her, watching her daughter pray, her eyes misting with a quiet hope that Aarohi's dreams would always be fulfilled. She kissed Aarohi on the forehead and gestured her toward the door.*
**Anitha:**
"Chalo beta, Bhagwan ji ne tumhari wish sun li. Ab chalte hain."---
The Drive to the Cake Shop
*The winter air nipped at their faces as they left the house. Anitha had dressed both of them in thick winter clothes. Anitha drove the small car cautiously through the dense fog that made the road barely visible. Aarohi sat in the back seat, chattering endlessly, her excitement uncontainable.***Small Aarohi:**
"Mummy, hum chocolates bhi lenge. Mere doston ke liye bhi. Woh log bhi aayenge shaam ko."*Anitha smiled at her daughter's joy.*
**Anitha:**
"Haan beta, sab kuch lenge. Par tum seat belt pehen lo properly."*Aarohi shifted uncomfortably in her seat.*
**Small Aarohi:**
"Yeh seat belt tang kar rahi hai, mummy!"*Distracted, Aarohi's chocolate bar fell from her hands, rolling onto the car floor. As she bent down to pick it up, Anitha glanced back at her daughter.*
**Anitha:**
"Aarohi, aram se baitho. Kitni baar bola hai, waise bhi road pe kuch clear nahi dikh raha."*Suddenly, Aarohi screamed.*
**Small Aarohi:**
"Mummyyyyyyy! Aage dekho!"*A car loomed ahead, swerving dangerously toward their car. In a desperate attempt to avoid the collision, Anitha tried to steer the car to the side, but in the panic, the car skidded on the icy road and slammed into a tree. The world blurred into chaos, the sound of screeching metal and shattering glass filling the air.*

#### The Tragedy
*When Aarohi opened her eyes, everything was still. The air was filled with the distant wail of sirens. Blood stained the inside of the car, and she could feel her own body aching from bruises and cuts.*
