"Maa, I... I can't believe it. Is this really what you want for me? This feels sudden and overwhelming. I never expected this. I mean, I want to make you happy, but I don't think I'm ready for marriage yet."

My mother approached me, taking my hand in hers. Her eyes held a pleading look as she spoke

"I haven't asked anything from you, ever...... but this is important to me. Can't you do this for me?"

"Maa, I have to be honest. Marriage is a huge decision, and I am not ready for it yet. I don't understand why it has to happen so suddenly when we've never even talked about it ever before."

"I know this may seem sudden, but please trust me. In time, you will see the significance of this decision. For now, I'm asking you to do this for your mother. Won't you please grant me this one request?"

"Maa, I'm trying to understand, but this all feels too rushed. Can you please explain why this is so important to you? I need to know more, before I can even consider something as life- changing as marriage."

"My child, you trust me? You have always been my precious child, and I would never do anything to harm you. Marriage may be a big step, but I assure you, this is something important... for us."
