She had to clear her mind as soon as possible. She couldn't understand her inner turmoil and all these thoughts. When she went out for a night walk she saw a figure standing by the wall smoking a cigarette. In this darkness she recognised him. From all of the people in the world it was Yoongi. She stood there observing him. Few minutes later he started walking down the alley.

Yoona had no idea why she had followed him. She quietly tailed Yoongi through the maze of streets, something pulled her closer. It wasn't logic or strategy—something deeper, more dangerous, gnawed at her.

The shadows cast by the city's lights flickered as Yoongi finally stopped near a secluded alley. He didn't turn around, but he spoke, his voice a low rasp that sent a chill through her."You've been following me for the last ten minutes, Smoke," he said, his back still to her. "Care to explain why?"Yoona froze, her heart skipping a beat. She should have known he'd notice. "I wasn't—""Lying doesn't suit you," he interrupted, turning to face her now. His eyes gleamed in the dim light, sharp and calculating. "You want something. So, what is it?"She felt the weight of his gaze, and for once, she couldn't come up with a lie fast enough. "I need answers.""Answers?" He chuckled, the sound dark and amused. "I doubt you'll like what I have to say.""Try me," she shot back, taking a step forward, narrowing the space between them. The air felt charged, like an invisible line was about to be crossed, and Yoona wasn't sure if she was ready for what lay on the other side.Yoongi regarded her in silence for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, almost casually, he leaned back against the wall, folding his arms. "Fine. Ask your questions."The sudden shift in his demeanor—calm, almost bored—made her skin prickle with irritation. "Why didn't you kill me when you had the chance?"Yoongi's eyes flashed with something—was it amusement? Annoyance?—but his voice remained even. "If I had killed you, I wouldn't be standing here, listening to your questions. I need to know what's driving you."Yoona clenched her fists, hating how he seemed so in control, as if nothing rattled him. "You already know what drives me. I've made it clear enough.""Revenge?" He scoffed, his voice dripping with disbelief. "That's not all, is it?"Yoona's jaw tightened. "Don't pretend you know me, Agust.""I don't pretend anything," he replied smoothly, pushing himself off the wall and stepping closer. His voice dropped lower, more serious now. "But I know there's more to you than just revenge. Otherwise, you wouldn't have followed me tonight."Yoona's breath caught in her throat. He was too close now, close enough that she could feel the warmth radiating from him, hear the quiet, steady rhythm of his breathing. His presence was overwhelming, and she hated the way it made her pulse quicken. She squared her shoulders, refusing to back down. "You think you've figured me out? You don't know anything.""Maybe not everything," Yoongi admitted, his gaze never leaving hers. "But I know enough. I know that you're different from the others—more focused, more dangerous. And I know that if you really wanted me dead, you wouldn't be here, standing this close."Yoona's heart pounded, her mind racing to find a retort. "You're full of yourself.""Maybe," he conceded, smirking, but there was a flicker of something deeper in his eyes—something that made her stomach flip. "But it doesn't change the fact that we're standing here, talking, when we should be trying to kill each other."His words hung in the air, and for a long moment, neither of them spoke. The city around them felt distant, muffled by the tension that crackled between them. Yoona hated how right he was, how much sense his words made. They should be enemies. But why, then, did she feel drawn to him, like some invisible force kept pulling her back, despite everything?"Why didn't you kill me?" Yoongi's question was softer now, almost like a challenge.Yoona swallowed hard, forcing herself to meet his gaze. "I told you. I need answers.""That's not the real reason," he countered, stepping closer, his voice a low murmur. "You hesitated back at the docks, just like I did. Why?"Her mouth went dry, her brain scrambling for something—anything—to say. But the truth was there, bubbling beneath the surface, and she hated how exposed it made her feel. She didn't want to admit that she didn't know why she hadn't taken the shot, why she had let him walk away when everything in her screamed that she should finish what she had started.Yoongi's eyes softened for the briefest moment, as if he understood her turmoil, but he didn't press her. Instead, he leaned back again, putting a few inches of space between them, though the tension remained."I let you go," he said quietly, "because I see something in you that I don't see in the others. You're different. I don't know why yet, but I intend to find out."Yoona felt her pulse quicken at his words, a mix of frustration and something else—something she wasn't ready to name—flooding her chest. She didn't want to be different to him. She didn't want him to see her as anything but his enemy. But now, standing here, she couldn't deny that something had shifted between them, and it terrified her."I'm not someone you can figure out" she said, her voice steady but laced with warning. "And you're not the only one with secrets.""I'm counting on it," he replied, his smirk returning. "That's what makes this interesting."Yoona's heart raced, and she hated the thrill that ran through her veins at his words. She shouldn't feel this way. She shouldn't feel anything at all for him, except hatred. Yet here she was, standing alone in the dark with the man she had sworn to bring down, and all she could think about was how dangerously close he was to unraveling her."Be careful," she said, her voice low, barely above a whisper. "You might not like what you find."Yoongi's eyes darkened, his expression unreadable. "I could say the same to you."For a moment, the world felt suspended in that alleyway, time slowing as they stood there, inches apart, each daring the other to make the next move. But neither of them did. Instead, the tension remained, thick and suffocating, until finally, Yoona forced herself to break away."I'll see you at the finish line," she said, her voice cold again, a wall going up between them once more.Yoongi didn't try to stop her as she turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows of the city. But she could still feel his eyes on her, a weight she couldn't shake, even as she disappeared into the night.
