The Oath of a lord

And that's what brought me here.

I looked around at the desolate, ancient island, a forgotten remnant of a world that time had left behind. Jagged cliffs lined the horizon, and the thick, oppressive jungle that stretched out before me was filled with the sounds of creatures I had never heard before. The air smelled of damp earth and lush plantlife. I was stranded, wounded, with nothing but my shattered sword, my bloodied hands, and the fire of hatred that still burned deep in my chest.

The battle with Akainu had been my downfall, my lowest point, but I would not die here. Not like this.

My body ached. The fight had broken more than just my blade—it had cracked the very foundation of who I once was. My once strong sword, now lay in pieces, the steel shards scattered across the surrounding ground, as useless as the uniform I once wore. Its hilt was still clutched in my hand, though; my grip on it as tight as my grip on my last shred of sanity.

I took a deep breath, ignoring the pain that flared up in my ribs. Every breath reminded me of my failure, but also of my resolve. I had been abandoned, betrayed by the institution I once believed in, the Marines who swore to protect the innocent but only served their twisted sense of order.

This island... it was a graveyard of old ruins and forgotten civilizations. I could feel it in my bones. The remnants of something powerful, something ancient, lingered in the very soil beneath my feet. And yet, none of it mattered.

All that mattered was that I survived. All that mattered was vengeance.

I stared up at the sky, the orange and red hues of dusk painting the heavens above me. The sun was setting, but my rage was only beginning to rise.

"Akainu..."

The name left my lips like venom, dripping with fury and resentment. I could still see his face, hear his cold, unfeeling words, and smell the scent of burning flesh as he reduced innocent people to ash. He had stolen everything from me. My honor. My comrades. My future.

But I wasn't broken. Not yet.

"I swear..." My voice trembled with the weight of my anger, but I forced it out. "I swear on my blood... on the blood of the innocent that you slaughtered... I will not rest. I will not die... until you pay for your crimes!"

The sky above seemed to tremble as my rage poured out of me. I could feel something deep inside me shift, an ancient force stirring from within my very soul. It felt like my blood was boiling, like every drop was igniting with a fury that I had never known. My hands shook, my breath quickened, and my vision blurred as a deep, primal roar began to rise in my throat.

"I will not let you live! You hear me?! I will not die until I've taken your life with my own hands!"

I screamed to the heavens, my voice raw with the force of my hatred. The very air around me seemed to crackle, a pressure building up, heavy and suffocating. The wind stopped. The island went silent. The smaller creatures of the jungle cowered, as if even nature itself feared the power that was awakening inside me.

And then, it happened.

A wave of energy exploded outward from my body, an invisible force that rippled through the air like a shockwave. Trees swayed under the pressure, leaves trembled and scattered, and the very ground beneath me quaked. The ancient ruins seemed to hum with recognition, as if the island itself acknowledged the power I was unlocking.

It was Conqueror's Haki.

I had heard tales of it—an ability reserved for the few, for those destined to lead and rule. The power to impose one's will upon the world itself, to bend it to their command. I had never realized that such power could lie dormant within me.

But now, in my desperation, in my rage, I had unlocked it.

I stood there, breathing heavily, my heart pounding in my chest as the island settled into a deathly stillness. The weight of what I had just unleashed pressed down on me, but I wasn't afraid. If anything, I felt... alive. Stronger than I ever had before.

I stared at my shattered sword. Broken, but not beyond repair.

"This isn't the end..."

I closed my eyes, feeling the blood pulsing through my veins. I could sense it now, the power within me, raw and untamed. My Conqueror's Haki had awakened, but it was still only a taste of what I could become. I wasn't just a man anymore. I was something more. Something that even Akainu would one day fear.

I gripped the hilt of my broken sword tightly and stared up at the blood-red sky once more.

"I will survive this island. I will rebuild my strength. And when I do..." I whispered to the wind, feeling the fire of vengeance reigniting within me, stronger than ever. "I will find you, Akainu. And when I do... you will fall."
