Veilen took back his words, even though it might as well have been a good three years too late to take it back actually. Yes, that's right, it has in fact been three years. Three years since he had made the impulsive decision to adopt a baby that was literally left on his doorstep in the middle of a storm.
Sometimes he wonders if he's actually pretty stupid, but alas, despite his moment of stupidity and lack of knowledge on how to actually care for a player, he thinks he had done a pretty great job—
"DAD! SABRE CLIMBED THE SHELVES AGAIN!" Veilen sighs in defeat as he sets down his cup of tea and hits his head against the table, causing someone to chuckle in amusement. "Having trouble with parenting?" Veilen looked up and glared at his husband. "How about you raise a young steve and tell me how you experience, then we can have a nice– long chat about our time." His husband just chuckled in response.
Causing Veilen to narrow his gaze. "Kaze, can you please stop laughing at me?" His friend, Kaze the Yellow King, just smiled in response, but that doesn't mean he can't laugh at the poor sight of his friend. "Not one bit, sure, me ruling over the Yellow Kingdom is different than raising a pair of childrens, but your case is a very unique one honestly." Kaze responded as they leaned against their hand.
Veilen just huffed as he stood up and went to bring down Sabre from the top of the shelves. Again, he wasn't even ready to fly yet due to the small wings that's slowly but surely growing out of their baby fluff. But that also doesn't mean he can't help, but yelped when Sabre smacked him in the face with the wings, much to the observer's amusement.
With a huff, he sets a huffy Sabre down on the ground. "Now now Sabre, I know you liked being up in high places due to your avian mind, but you can't keep climbing the shelves, I don't want you getting hurt. Or worse." Veilen gently scolded, much to Sabre annoyance as he chirps out his frustration.
He could speak, but he prefers communicating via coos and chirps. Sometimes thrilled if he wanted to get the others' attention, but still. Alas, it would seem that Sabre's natural childish adorableness came in, thus causing Veilen to just sigh. "Okay, how about this, if you stopped climbing things without anyone's supervision, I will allow you and Raive to play with the other Steves alright?"
Both Sabre and Raive, a young eleven year old Red Steve, both perked up at the idea of actually playing with the others. "Really?! Are you sure? You always talked about not letting us play with the other childrens in the villages out of worries that someone could see Sabre and–" Raive rambling was stopped when Veilen held up his hand. "Yes yes, I am well aware of what I had said before, but I figure as you both grow older, I would allow some social interactions, after all– The Orange Village are those I trust greatly to keep you kids out of trouble." Veilen explained with a smile, causing the childrens to cheer.
Truly excited to have the chance to visit the Orange Village more often.
Kaze just chuckles from his place at the table.
"Moments ago you just said you regret–"
"Shut up Kaze before I kicked you out of this house."
Kaze wisely stayed silent, mostly out of fear of actually being banned from the house. Again. Not that Veilen or the kids would let him live down the events that did in fact cause him to get kicked out of the house the first time. He shudders to even think about that event.
Nightmares, he thought to himself as he silently continued to drink his tea and watched Veilen interact with the childrens. It wasn't common for childrens to exist amongst the Steves, something that really doesn't exist as a common concept– since they used their excess energy to create another Steve into existence. Unrelated to one another.
